He is not giving up. He prefers to keep obamacare. He is surely making a lot of money from it. They all are. And it makes election campaigns easier. Elections will be fought out over which candidate can tweak the system the most profitably for this group of constituents or that one, or for all of them in incompatible ways.
Exactamudo, FRiend. As we type big “health” is backing up the brinks trucks to K Street lobbying shops. That money is being funneled down to Congress.
The reason the GOP has no Obamacare alternative is because they prefer a slightly tweaked Obamacare.
Their big donors love socialized medicine almost as much as amnesty. That is all the GOPe care about. They’ve clearly abandoned us folks on Main Street. Nothing will change that short of CW2. Not even a Cruz POTUS. Socialized medicine is here to stay, unfortunately.
After 5 years of this being the law they still have not hit the 12 Million mark in actual paid enrollment. That (i think) is a good indicator that people are hanging back until it is totally free. They don't even want a subsidized policy if it costs them a co-pay and deductible.
The problem with Ryan and the rest is two fold. First, they aren’t shining nearly the spotlight necessary on the problems this law is creating. Which partly leads into the second part: we don’t trust Ryan and the rest. And with good reason. We know that they’re barely playing passive-aggressive with this, but are otherwise punting on it in the hopes that the tipping point I described above will happen before the GOP base takes a walk ...
The big GOPe donors all want employee health care off their books. They are happily dumping their employees onto the obamacare exchanges ASAP.
IMO, within a decade everybody will be on socialized medicine except for high level professionals, union connected, elites, etc. Socialized medicine is here to stay. Every Dem POTUS will slowly turn the screws on Main Street and the GOP won’t substantively oppose them. They will cash the K Street checks and let he Dems do the heavy lifting on this.
THEY DONT WANT IT TO GO AWAY.
IT IS IRS #2.

Have you noticed a disconnect at all between what Paul Ryan makes himself out to be and Paul Ryan’s actions?
Everyone could see that Obamacare was going to sink itself eventually. But, it still continues to make MANY, MANY Americans suffer just in the area of immensely INCREASED deductibles.
Thank you Mr. Ryan for telling us what we ALREADY knew.

Me too!!! But Scalia is usually such a deeply conservative thinker that the Bumpersticker Re-name gave me a pleasant surprise because it was so filled with venomous sarcasm for his colleagues!!! So - I LOVE IT!!!
