A Michigan man died when a firework he was holding to his head exploded, police said.
The blast of the mortar shell happened Sunday night in front of the family of the 47-year-old man, who was not identified.
Walled Lake Police Chief Paul Shakinas told the Free Press that alcohol was a factor in the death.
WXYZ in Detroit said the man may not have realized the firework was lit when he put it up to his head.

You’re not supposed to set off fireworks next to your head. That’s what yer butt crack is for. Sheesh.

I would think the Process of Natural Selection applies here.

Doubtful he had kids.. based on his last experiment I doubt he’d know where to put it to make kids.

You mean you’re not supposed to hold it to your ear to listen to it to see if it’s still active?

None of that seems all that surprising.

I hate personal fireworks and I refuse to attend any parties of friends who advertise a firework display.........
To: Hot Tabasco
I enjoy a fireworks display.
What I don't like is when they are set off and I am not expecting it.
Still jumpy after all these years.
