I agree. In itself it is not a bad statement.
In the old days, before unions, people expected to work 6 days a week, sometimes well into evening.
It’s probably part of how America got so far ahead. To wit, most Euro cultures have a “siesta” principle where everyone is expected to leave work for an hour or more, and even early. Once I realized that, I realized what a difference our culture made from that with hard work, like it or not.

“Jeb Bush ... that Americans need to work longer hours for substantial economic growth to return.”
Call me Boxer.
Jeb Bush has no clue regarding our economy. Our economy sucks because of the rampant socialism. With his statement he agrees with the democrats that the policies are fine. He actually believes, along with democrats, is that all we need are more Boxers.
What is really needed, is roll back of all regulations and taxes on corporations and people. Then watch the economy take off and grow.

I think the language I would be inclined to use in describing the anatomically impossible acts that I think Jeb should perform on himself would be unacceptable, not the sentiment.

Jeb Bush may have made his first notable gaffe of the 2016 presidential campaign, declaring in an interview that Americans need to work longer hours for substantial economic growth to return. To which his wife added "Si no tienen pan, que coman pasteles ".

"Im just curious. Has Jeb ever had a real job in the private sector?"Yes. But the only time he ever worked up a sweat was playing tennis at Andover.

That asshole has always depended on Daddy’s money or Brown Brother’s Harriman money and has never worked a day in his life. What does he know about working for a living.

I would love to Jebbie.
But my boss would only allow it if I worked for free.

I found work in Carters presidency easier to find than now.
This economy stinks on ice!
Praise the Lord I am working again, but at 1/2 pay with a 1/10 of the benefits.
And it was a bitch to find.

Hey Jeb, how about speaking Spanish to all those illegals who don't work and get $45,000 a year from those of us who work to get a job or leave.
Grow a set.
