Why liberals don’t view (or don’t want to view) the U.S. as the greatest country in the world is pretty baffling.

I don’t find it difficult at all to understand why the Liberals don’t see the United States as the Greatest Country in the world.

You can’t gather a revolutionary army from the people of the greatest country in the world. The Liberal want a revolution in this country so that they can have absolute power can have perpetual power.

They must sow the seeds of discontent so that they can grow their revolutionary army. To create that discontent they must convince at least a large minority that believe that they are repressed and discriminated against. Note that the Liberal’s list of discriminated groups is forever growing.

It is far easier to persuade an unhappy people to go to war than a happy one.

Government payments to our farmers are published on the internet. Names and dollar amounts are published.

I want government payments to welfare recipients published on the internet. I want to know where all the welfare money is going. I want to see names and dollar amounts.

Very close to this:

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Which I’d been led to believe was an Abraham Lincoln quote.

Adrian Rogers was a great pastor of a church in Memphis, TN. His programs are still shown on Sunday afternoons a 2 pm central time. I listened to one of his radio programs yesterday while driving over into Georgia and back. He was a great man of God and I am sure his church misses his teaching. But at least they and we have his old programs to watch and listen to now.

You can still watch Dr. Adrian Rogers (rebroadcasts) on Christian TV stations. He gave excellent sermons.

Echoes the sentiments expressed by one Rev. William Boetcker, a late-19th-century lecturer:

You cannot bring prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
You cannot further brotherhood of men by inciting class hatred.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

Prescient.
