Hillary Clinton to Tout Profit Sharing As A Way To Reduce income Disparity
LA Times ^ | July 13, 2015 | Evan Halper

Hillary Rodham Clinton will make corporate profit sharing a key piece of her economic agenda, proposing changes in the tax code that encourage companies to boost employee compensation when earnings are robust, according to excerpts of a major campaign address she will deliver Monday.

“We need new ideas,” says a section of the text shared by her campaign. “Hard-working Americans deserve to benefit from the record corporate earnings they helped produce."

Clinton's speech lauds profit sharing that gives workers a stake in the success of their employer as a way to “boost productivity and put money directly in employees' pockets."

The proposal is part of the Democratic presidential hopeful's overall plan to narrow the income gap between the richest Americans and middle- and low-wage earners. Clinton will unveil her plan for addressing it in a speech at the New School in New York.

"We need new ideas". Yes, we do. But just because it's "new",doesn't make the idea good or even worth looking at. The object of the Sapphic Mistress and her decidedly warped economic plan is to reduce income disparity. But the plan is some sort of economic chimerical monstrosity. The reducing of income disparity takes its roots in socialist/ communist ideology, while profit sharing is a capitalist concept. Can a capitalist economic concept help lead to a reduction in income disparity via profit sharing? No, absolutely not. Profit sharing by way of being more productive is uniquely tied to an individual's abilities. If you have only been able to produce a certain amount of income, profit sharing will not reduce anyone's income disparity. Sure, they'll get in on the national 'profit sharing" but they'll only end up with the same amount of income as percentage of profit sharing as function of their abilities, education, status, ambition and will not see any reduction in disparity say, between themselves as a school bus driver and a lawyer.

Yes. New ideas deeply rooted in ideologies of envy, sloth, and entitlement. The problem is there is a large sector who contribute nothing at all, taking everything they get from Government (who stole it from working taxpayers).

Now, she advocates a reallocation of wealth as “profit sharing”. Just another fancy way of government stealing from one (or an entity) to give to another.

The end result is that absolutely no good comes from wealth received from value not added.

Why don’t they just start their own businesses? Make their own profits? Oh, that mountain of government rules and regulations might dissuade them a little.

“We need new ideas,”

How novel. Why don't we just invent Employee Stock Option Plans.

“We need new ideas,”

And history has shown that central planning is the way to get them.

Hillary, given that you and Bill made over $23 million in a few years from speaking fees, based on your connection to government positions the American people voted you into and paid you for, why don’t you start us out by sharing those profits?

Good point. Just say the magic phrase “profit sharing” and income disparity is reduced to next to nothing. The only problem is, everyone’s annual income is about the same, $7,500. Profit sharing = practically no disparity.Karl Marx would have no problem with near zero income disparity but what would trouble him is the pseudo-economic factor of “profit sharing”.

I think she is hinting at one of two things:

1. Forcing owners to share profits with employees, regardless of whether they own stock or not.

2. Paying employees with stock.

Of course, the above often happen voluntarily. She is talking about mandating it.

Don’t tell me she hasn’t heard of employee owned business, or IMHO, she expects us not to know.

“We need new ideas,” says a section of the text shared by her campaign. “Hard-working Americans deserve ..."

Do you think they are even aware of the irony of putting the phrase "new ideas" in the same sentence with that worn-out old lefty phrase "hard-working Americans?"

Gee, sharing very directly in the success or failure of the company. Profit-sharing, stocks, etc... Not a new idea there Hillary - that's basically the start-up model. Oh, wait, let me guess. Your "new idea" is that the "hard-working Americans" should only share in the good times. I'll bet you don't talk too much about compensation cuts when the company is struggling. Or is that another old idea like the hackneyed "hard-working Americans" - an old socialist idea...

She is merely intending to transform ESOP’s in her “gonna have to take from you for the common good” likeness.

She never uses her own money for anything. Even that $100 bill James Carville used to talk about dragging through a trailer park would have come from somebody else.

These two grifters’ reigns are coming to an end. And the nascent rise of their offspring will never bear the same power.

Her armor is rusty and her sword is dull. Her only advantage now is the undue fear her opponents feel about doing battle with her.

The truth is there is no ‘there’ there. IMO, she’s mentally incapable now, physically debilitated and it is taking her entire machine just to keep her away from uncontrolled scrutiny and that is not even fully working. It is just a matter of time.

Yo Hellary-—maybe businesses could pay their employees more if the Federal and State governments would reduce their ‘profit sharing/taking taxes’ on them.

Eventually, government controlled wealth, income and work results in the same thing: government “pretends” to pay them, and workers “pretend” to work.
