He’s your POW, not mine. I can’t stand the man. He’s dangerous to our country for many reasons - including bringing Obama to power and throwing Sarah Palin to the dogs of his campaign.
I don’t know whether Trump’s father bought him a deferment or not - the old man was not that famous and not as well-heeled as his son. In any case, who else running avoided the military?

Also lets all step back for minute to examine Vietnam. What was our purpose there? Did we have to sacrifice over 57,000 men and women for that war?
I read David Halberstam’s “The Best and the Brightest” many years ago and I still don’t think I understood what happened in Vietnam. As I remember part of the reasoning boiled down to Dean Acheson’s Domino Theory and that was proved BS.

He didn’t attack our POWs.He attacked ONE.
I think it's becoming an issue because of what Trump said about McCain and POWs. It's probably best not to criticize those who served about their service when you took pains to make sure you wouldn't be one of them.
