Will the Real Donald Trump Please Stand Up?
Politico ^ | July 26, 2015 | Timothy Noah

Which side is Donald Trump on?

Trump once endorsed a massive surtax on the rich. But he now wants the top income tax rate cut in half.

He opposed the war in Iraq, but says he now has a “foolproof” plan to defeat ISIL.

He’s praised single-payer health care, yet loathes Obamacare. But a decade ago he proposed “health marts” that sound suspiciously like today’s Obamacare exchanges.

Jeb Bush has been a card carrying Republican his whole life. As has Boehner McConnell etc. Case closed.

Those "Republicans" I would spew out of my mouth.

In 1999, Trump quit the Republican Party, saying “I just believe the Republicans are just too crazy right.”

in 1999 that he proposed a wealth tax — a one-time 14.25 percent levy on fortunes more than $10 million

In the 2000 volume Trump pronounced himself “a liberal”

In 2000 Trump declared ““it’s unacceptable … that the number of uninsured Americans has risen to forty-two million.” The solution? “While we work out details of a new single-payer plan,”

In 2000 Trump said “Unions still have a place in American society”

Trump, at near 70 years of age, is still evolving? How do you know he won’t continue to “evolve” and into what shape or form the continuing “evolution” morphs into?

I don’t trust someone who has been all over the political map in the past 10 years.

I don’t trust him, either.
However I trust the rest of them less, except Ted Cruz.

¡Yeb! is telling us upfront he wants to turn the country into North Mexico.

That you can trust him on.

“I don’t trust someone who has been all over the political map in the past 10 years.”

Then you must not trust the Republicans who have been in Congress for the last 10 years either, lol, as they have been all over the political map too.

“Trump, at near 70 years of age, is still evolving?”

Of course he can still evolve. Many lifelong dems who have seen their country taken down a notch are also evolving.

Case in point ... my 84 year old dad and 83 year old mom, lifelong democrats told me yesterday they are voting for Trump. These are 2 people who voted all their life for anyone that had a D by their name. They know that Trump is the only candidate saying what needs to be said.

So give the Donald some slack, he is probably just as pissed off as millions of other Americans who want to see America great again.

And he’s putting his mouth, his money and his reputation behind it.

I don’t trust anybody with beltway stink on them. We’ve been sold down the river too many times to forgive and believe that the next Congress/POTUS will be any less abusive.

A little controlled burn by Trump smoking out beltway scum is doing a world of good, IMO.

I just watched Perry interviewed on CBS. He stated that Trump will have to present solutions, in the future, rather than just talk. Anybody yet heard Perry’s solutions on anything, including immigration (other than just warm fuzzy talk)?

“Now as a candidate, Trump can say all the things he was thinking about lowlife politicians back then.”

Trump has had dealings with high level politicians over the years. He knows where the skeletons are.

Yah...I heard Perry say what he’d do....Three main things....
secure the boarder, deal with illegal immigrants, and some third thing that escapes me for the moment.

“In 2000 Trump said “Unions still have a place in American society””

As a former union employee working amongst non-union employees, I agree with that. Union leaders have a tendency to be unethical, in my opinion, but are voted in, and accountable to the workers. If they abuse their voters, they are dumped. Do companies have a tendency to be unethical? There is no recourse for the workers.

Remember when it was bad when Kerry “evolved“ a lot?

His ilk can’t give answers without flat-out lying, because what they want to do is opposed to what a majority of Americans want, at least regarding illegal immingration and amnesty. McConnell and Boehner were willing to flat-out lie, I must admit, but a lot of people-not enough, obviously-already knew that they were lying.

Your mom and dad’s reaction to the mess created by the current administration is encouraging. I hope millions of former Democrat voters feel the same way.

And it’s okay that Trump is giving voice to their concerns.

Hopefully they’ll be open to voting for a GOP candidate who has actually demonstrated that they will take the country in the direction Trump is now advocating, because Trump has been all over the lot in just the past decade or so. We don’t need another narcissistic president doing whatever he feels like doing because it makes him feel good.

Trump is all about Trump, and people will eventually figure that out on their own. But again, your parents’ reaction to where the Dems have taken the country lately is encouraging.

I saw that, too. Rather the same as his nasty ‘cancerous tumor’ rant castigating Trump for being a big meanie. Twice now, Perry has opened his mouth and inserted his foot. Doing the same thing he accused Trump of in the first, and offering no ‘solutions’ of his own. He’s DOA, but no one has told the stiff.

I note w/ amusement the RNC came out against name calling. The MSM will try to spin it as being all about Trump, but he’s not the one using ‘crazies’, ‘cancerous tumor’, ‘jackass’, etc, etc. In fact, most of his remarks about others targets their RECORDS.
