Jewish educators called to UK authority meeting on Rosh Hashana

LONDON – While British school inspection authority Ofsted holds respect for minorities high on its agenda, it has set a meeting for independent London schools – including Jewish schools – on Rosh Hashana.

Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, has the authority to insist on changes in schools if common standards and regulations aren’t met, and in extreme cases can recommend the closure of schools. It has the power to descend on a school without notice, or minimal notice, to ensure the establishment is up to scratch. High on its agenda is ensuring schools teach pupils respect for minorities and other religions, an issue that has caused occasional friction with strictly Orthodox educational establishments that prefer a limited focus on non-Jewish topics.

The Rosh Hashana meeting, which is meant to brief schools on a new inspection framework, has angered and bewildered Jewish educational heads. A similar meeting in Salford, in the Manchester area, is scheduled to be held on the first day of Hol Hamoed Succot.

This sounds like something instigated by Moose.

Just tell the bureaucrats that you won’t be there due to a major Jewish holiday.

That hatred of Israel by European nations is predicted in bible end-time prophecy. According to the book of the Apocalypse, during the last 1/2 of the 7-year Great Tribulation all the nations of the world will turn against Israel, and her people will be severely persecuted and driven out of their native land for a period of 3-1/2 years.

Pretty much on target. That last 3-1/2 years is the Great Tribulation, though.

The Antichrist declares himself to be “god” and abominates the (coming) Third Temple. When the Tribulation Saints see the Abomination that Causes Desolation, THEN shall be Great Tribulation.

Matthew 24:15-21 King James Version (KJV)

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Somebody didn’t check a calendar for Jewish holidays in setting the date. As soon as the Jewish schools raised the issue, Ofsted offered to reschedule the meeting. This was nearly a week ago.

Yes, it’s a mistake that shouldn’t happen if people know what they are doing, but it does look like it was simply due to lack of knowledge.

I just completed a 10 month computer course. The school is run by Europeans, the chain of schools having originated in Europe. They scheduled all the extra-help sessions on Saturday, when I could not go. They scheduled some helpful speakers to come Friday nights, when I could not go. And then, after nearly a year of really killing myself to complete all the assignments, I found out that they had scheduled the graduation ceremony for Friday, when I could not go. I had informed them of these conflicts weeks ahead, but did not even receive the courtesy of a reply from the head of the school. She merely replied that I "should have known these things when I signed up". And how would I have known? So, I could not even attend my own graduation ceremony. How would YOU feel?

Even better, I have suffered from a very severe sore throat/fever/misery this week, yet worked 48 hours straight with only 2 hours of sleep in order to complete the compilation of my work required by the course. I got it in a couple of hours before the graduation ceremony (Sabbath did not start til 8:02 this week, but it would still not have been possible to get to the graduation ceremony and back and still have time to prepare for the Sabbath, since you can't travel on it, and you needed time to warm up your Sabbath meal, turn on any lights you want to use, etc.). I spoke to the instructor with whom I had worked the most closely and asked him if he could review my work so that I could go have it printed. He said he could not, as he was now on vacation, and suggested that the head of the school (who emanates very strong antisemitic vibes) look it over. Since he was the one who had supervised and critiqued virtually all of my work and had signed off on it, how much time would it have taken to give a look over to my work and the green light to have it printed? Did I ever refuse a student who needed my help, even if it was my lunch period or staying unpaid after school?

The Feast of Trumpets is a very important PART of understanding GOD. But what did God say about "respecting OTHER RELIGIONS" ?
I remember our Heavenly Father telling us HOW to handle other religions,
how to show the proper reaction to their false gods.

Read how:Also: Here's a great example of responding to those followers of FALSE gods.
Jerubbaal and Joash of Judges 6 and Judges 7 are well worth your time.

But since when has Great Britain respected "OTHER" religions ?
How long have they battled over religion with the Protestants?

And this school is accredited? I think you have a case for discrimination if nothing else.

I am sorry for your tale but I would look for another school. There are even Jewish schools that have course work in computer tech.
