Has Donald Trump made his first serious boo-boo of the campaign?
For weeks, the media have trumpeted the supposed death of the Trump campaign. First, they claimed, Trump’s campaign imploded on launch thanks to his comments about illegal immigration. Then they claimed that Trump was finished because of his slap at Senator Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)43% ’s (R-AZ) war service. But neither of those comments alienated Trump’s base – he’s maintained his seven point lead over Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in the 2016 presidential polls, with no other candidate breaking double-digits in the polls. In fact, his original comments about illegal immigration launched his candidacy to prominence, with many Americans relieved that a major candidate had finally touched the media third rail and talked openly about illegal immigrant criminality.
Now, however, Trump may have damaged himself with the very people excited by his candidacy. Asked point blank about his immigration policy, Trump dropped the brashness and the blurting, and suddenly went completely Hillary-vague on CNN. After blathering about deporting criminal illegal immigrants – even President Obama pays lip service to this idea – Trump continued:

I am not celebrating the demise of Trump - and I"m not sure this is his demise....I am, however, enjoying my personal vindication, at least to a degree.
I have a better idea. Use land mines OR place National Guard along the border with orders to shoot on sight.
Breitbart, one of the big pro Trump sites, wrote this headline....one of their star writers. Take your attitude up with them.

Gee, who could have seen this coming from a guy who once donated to get Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid related. Allegedly, Trumps Chumps say, he had to. He had no choice. He was in New York and that’s that. I guess Harry requires all New York billionaires to give him money even if they’re a true conservative. Only morons don’t understand that real conservatives donate to liberals, as they’ve explained, again, again, and again. If you want to be a conservative, you have to be a Democrat too and a supporter of abortion and gun control, too. That’s right. I thought that we didn’t support those goals. But boy, I’m so dumb. I’ve been slammed as a covert, wicked liberal, even a faggot for not supporting Trump, the real deal.

Another Trump troll thread and the usual suspects show up to bash Donald. It has become very predictable. Trump’s appeal is his willingness to address topics the others shy away from. Things will shake out during the debates and campaign. I don’t know whom I will vote for, but I can guarantee that I will not hold my nose and vote for Jeb or any of the mushy moderates.
Answer post #6. Every professional candidate with an R behind his name hasn’t done squat but talk and talk. The party doesn’t have any credibility and all of them tow party line. They can talk a lot though.

Discussing what happens after they land at home is, again just my opinion, a reasonable discussion to have.

I see a lot of people supporting other candidates trying to bash his positions, and there’s a lot of selective editing going on in the press.
Even on the right it feels like the journalists are taking sides, advocating for candidates by default, and performing a lot of selective editing to maintain their points.
Ben doesn’t like Trump and he’s looking for reasons to discredit him.
