They are one of the four largest resettling illegals across America in the thousands....which includes setting them up with free benefits, housing and education, transportation etc.etc.. Best way to discredit him is to point out that Trump was referring to Illegals (just as your post does) and not Immigrants. Either Cardinal Dolan is implying that all Mexicans in the USA are here illegally OR he is very dishonest.
Being a man of the world as he seems to try to be without an ounce of patriotism toward the USA, it should be pointed out that the Cardinal’s stance and support for illegal immigration actually breaks up Mexican families. While the man of the house runs to another country to get work, the rest of the family stays back in Mexico. Yes, children who live without a father figure in the home. I do not think that is what God intended.
Then you have young Mexican children put on the tops of northbound trains, left to sneak across the border by themselves and vulnerable to pervert child molesters. This is inhumane and is not in the best interest of the Mexican family in Mexico. Shame on those such as Jeb Bush, McCain and the others who would risk the safety of Mexican kids and be willing to break up Mexican families just so they can get their lettuce picked at a cheapert rate.
What Dolan is doing to Trump is what journalists do to the Pope. Trump did not say immigrants are a problem, he said illegal immigrants are a problem. The Pope did not say that making a profit and running a business is bad, he said that idolatry of money is bad.

If Dolan so concerned about the treatment of illegals in this country and all over the world, then I believe that the good bishop should put his money where his mouth is by going to Ireland---he is of Irish background---and demand that the government allow those illegals---mostly from Africa who are overwhelming France and Britain right now---into Ireland as soon as possible.
Then, I would love to hear the good bishop talk about illegal immigration after the African illegals overwhelm Ireland and create problem after problem.
