What’s happening to this heroic Navy officer from the Chattanooga shooting will make your blood BOIL

I never like to be reactionary and follow anything that may just be hyperbole or conspiracy theory. That’s why I held off on addressing this issue until I got confirmation — which came Friday afternoon via text message.

There are things which make you just upset, like the liberal progressive left and media accomplices’ rage over the shooting of a lion in Africa but abject disregard and disdain reference Planned Parenthood dismembering babies and selling their body parts.

But this story has me dog fighting mad and seriously pissed off.

As reported ten days ago by Western Journalism, “A Navy officer and Marine reportedly returned fire at the shooter who killed five service members in Chattanooga, Tenn., even though current policy does not permit military members to carry firearms on facilities such as those where the attack occurred. At the time, Western Journalism wrote, Lt. Cmdr. White could face disciplinary action for violating policy about possessing a weapon on the facility that was supposedly a gun-free zone. The investigation into the attack is ongoing, and authorities will not know if White or the Marine hit the shooter until an autopsy and a ballistics report have been completed. Ladies and gents, resulting from the text message I received yesterday, I can confirm that the United States Navy is bringing charges against Lt. Cmdr Timothy White for illegally discharging a firearm on federal property.

Thanks for the kind words!

One slight disagreement. The term NeoCon did not have a very respectable origin or history and has now been distorted to the point where everyone you can imagine can be "accused" of being a boogeyman and a "NeoCon."

Originally, "NeoCon" was a thinly veiled sneer against some distinguished liberal scholars, writers and leaders (mostly but not all Jewish by ancestry and some by faith) who accepted that the Democrat Party with which they had been associated all their lives had taken an unacceptable and probably permanent turn to communism with the nomination of George McGovern in 1972. They were correct. They were also defense hawks and strong supporters of American support for Israel.

Their ranks included Norman Podhoretz, Midge Decter, Irving Kristol, Gertrude Himmelfarb, Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (somewhat Catholic by ancestry who grew up a pugnacious Irishmen in Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan) and who remained a Democrat to fight the reds within), Jeanne Kirkpatick who became Reagan's Ambassador to the UN after being Hubert Humphrey's foreign policy advisor, Donald Kagan who had also been a Humphrey adviser but became a rabid supporter of Reagan and still became Dean of Yale College, and many others of whom Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson comes to mind. These folks were great assets to the GOP, even Moynihan and Jackson whose deaths left their followers as political orphans who often gravitated to the Republican side.

These folks were also major intellects which is a lot more than Trump can say. He has not earned and probably won't earn the right to be called a "neo-con." Many neo-cons are reviled by both the left and by paleocons (1930s style Neville Chamberlain admiring isolationists who want to stick their heads in the sand in the hope that our enemies won't notice us). Think a Munich for the 21st century or Obozo's attempted surrender to the Islamofascist Mullahs of Iran. Now Trump won't surrender to Iran but he is no conservative and no neo-conservative.

Trump IS certainly a RINO who is mesmerizing all too many good folks fed up with politicians who will be severely disappointed to find out that Trump is also a politician.

God bless you and yours!

So Jindal can become a cabinet secretary: Energy, HHS, Edumakasun, and do a bang-up job and then run for the Vitter seat when next it is up for election. Rand Paul is not the perfect Senator but he has made valuable contributions on drones, opposing NSA snooping on citizens, his outreach to minorities although it is clumsy.

I hope you are wrong on Rubio. I certainly lack the knowledge to be sure, one way or the other. My favorite is Walker if he becomes competitive. Otherwise, Ted Cruz early and often.

God bless you and yours!

Why not?

I answered this before you asked in post: 71 The difference between Trump and Willard is Billions verses Millions. Trump supported Obozo over McQueeg and still supports Single payer health care. He is wobbly on the 2nd Amendment, and has supported a wealth tax.

He spouts Conservative principles NOW because it is convenient.

If a TRUE conservative is not running I will sit this one out.

Thank you for the clarification, I thought the term meant Newly minted conservatives that had not passed the test of time, ones that spouted the terms but to them it was merely rhetoric to ingratiate themselves in with the likes of Buckley and company.

Jindal, believe it or not, is not all that popular in LA at present. I'd rather see Jeff Landry take the Senate seat instead, an unapologetic Tea Partier (although he's running for Atty Gen at present).

As for Rand Paul's "outreach", well, this picture explains it in 1,000 words...

"Resist we much" comes to mind. This is almost as bad as Jack Kemp's trying to befriend the lunatic Calypso Louie Farrakhan into the GOP. Some things are better left behind.

Roofio was one of the most galling and offensive to me. He spent the campaign season trying to distinguish himself from the Orange Menace when it turned out they were just twins. I never saw someone whore themselves out to the political establishment faster than he did. He's dead to me. I'm just sorry Lt. Col. Allen West can't move back from TX to FL to get his Senate seat. Hopefully it will go to Rep. Ron DeSantis and we can actually get a real Conservative for a change.

I’m slightly than that:

For Pres- Trump, Walker,

For VP- Fiorina, Rubio, Walker,

I like Ted Cruz and Ben Carson and they’re very good people, but don’t think they’re ready for Prime Time. Mike Huckabee is acceptable, but very much yesterday’s news. George Pataki would be a great candidate for U.S. Senate, but not nearly conservative enough for President. Bobby Jindal is unpopular in his home state in spite of some good accomplishments.

Jeb Bush and Lindsay Graham are the worst in the field. If either was the nominee, I’d have to wear a clothespin on my nose at the polls.

There’s no one in Washington more ready for prime time than Cruz, and that’s glaringly obvious when you see him against any other DC politician. I’ve already given my opinion of the others (namely that Roofio, the scum-sucking establishment toady and backstabber to his Conservative supporters, isn’t fit to wash the floors of an illegal drunk tank with his tongue).

If you have a chance check out Commentary Magazine published by the quite left American Jewish Committee. When they hired Norman Podhoretz to be its editor he was a somewhat radical liberal but definitely not communist. The events of the 1960s definitely ripped the relationship between Podhoretz (and his wife Midge Decter) and the left but Podhoretz was such an outstanding editor in chief that the AJC kept him on until his retirement at 65 in 1995 and then hired his son to replace him. The Wikipedia article on him notes that he wrote a piece on Sarah Palin for the Wall Street Journal, in his capacity as a leading New York City Jewish intellectual saying that he would far sooner be governed by Sarah Palin as POTUS than by Barack Obozo.

When one of his sons was the target of a homosexual proposition, he and his wife reacted as You or I might. Midge Decter also wrote a book about Red Diaper babies called Liberal Parents, Radical Children shortly thereafter in her early days as a conservative. She knew and was disgusted by so many of them even when she herself was still a liberal.

"Neo-conservative" is properly used to describe those former liberal former Democrats who were brought over by the communist seizure of the Democrat Party.

Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol is the son of Irving Kristol and Gertrude Himmelfarb, a brilliant social historian of the Victorian Age in her own right.

If a TRUE conservative is not running I will sit this one out.

Then be prepared to be reviled as I and others on FR have been: for NOT voting ASGAINST Obama by for someone (or not) who was running opposite him; namely Willard; the Mormon Loser!

We are going to answer for our actions. I would rather answer for sitting one out rather than supporting evil.

BTW Mittens is a loser regardless of his religion.

Wait, you don’t think that Ted Cruz is ready for prime time, but that *Donald Trump* is? My word. Black is white, and white is black.

I mean Ted Cruz can handle media-led ambushes like he had the other day with that cute but lesbian fascist Ellen Page without batting an eyelash. If it had been one of the other midgets, they would’ve been apologizing profusely to this idiot for daring to follow God’s law.

I hear that sHrillary has brass ones, but no one has said how big they are.
