Voting for Virgil Goode in 2012 was a vote thrown away, yet at least it was in Tennessee, where the majority of voters had the good common sense to award Tennessee’s electoral votes to the only candidate with a chance of defeating Obama and not re electing him as POTUS where he can do whatever he pleases as CIC.

Are you a bot ? You seem incapable of discussion beyond repeating the dusty R-bot talking points from 2008 and 2012.

Must vote Willard, must vote McQueeg !

The only conservative vote that is thrown away is a vote for a liberal.

Voting for Barack Insane Obozo at any time in ANY election against ANY opponent would be "a vote thrown away."

Voting for Wlllard Mitt Romney at any time in ANY election against ANY opponent would be "a vote thrown away."

Ditto: Gerald Ford, Bush the Elder, Robert (Tax Collector for the Welfare State" Dole and John McCain and George McGovern, Jimmuh Peanut, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Slick Willie, Algore, John F'n (Did you know he served in Vietnam?) Kerry.

There are no more Democrats of the stripe of Hubert Humphrey, Henry Jackson, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who, as liberals, were often wrong but always patriots serving the public interest rather than their personal interests. There are da*ned few Republicans of any value either. Like their Congressional leaders, most Congresscritters of BOTH parties are money-grubbing slaves of Wall Street, K Street and the US Chambers of Crony Commerce. They are scared cowardly little creatures, living in the shadows and hoping not be noticed lest, God forbid, they might be criticized.

Increasingly, Americans of all persuasions are totally fed up with the trash in public office, financed and owned by the aforementioned corrupt $$$$ interests. Time to take out the trash.

I voted for McCain in 2008, telling myself that it was a vote for Sarah Palin. That was the eleventh time (1968 to 2008) that I voted Republican for POTUS. Except for Nixon over McGovern in 1972, Reagan in 1980 and 1988, and maybe Dubya in 2000 and 2004, it was a bad habit.

After repeated heated exchanges between Eternal Vigilance and me here on FR, I became convinced that he was right and I voted for him in 2012. You may claim that I was "throwing my vote away." I tell you that I was voting my conscience and my principles and, in however many years God may grant me, I will vote my conscience EVERY TIME. The graft-ridden zombie of a political party once known as "Republican" will get no default votes from me NO MATTER WHOM THE DEMONRATS MAY NOMINATE.

I trust that fieldmarshaldj's vote for Goode over the twin major party evils was produced by similar motives to my own.

What you want us to do is hold an ongoing fire sale of our principles and our consciences in service to the $$$$ interests. I am a social issue conservative first and foremost, a military and foreign policy hawk, a 2nd Amendment enthusiast, and, about nine miles down the road, something of an economic conservative as well. If you can think of other issue groupings, I am probably a conservative on those as well.

What finally ripped it for me was the nomination by the oceans of Wall Street $$$$ of an absolute POS named Willard Mitt Romney who was in most ways just as bad as the Demonrat POS Obozo and in some ways even worse. You will express amazement that ANYONE could be even worse than Obozo believing that any old "Republican" POS, even Romney, was a smidgeon better and therefore preferable. If you actually believe that Romney was a good man and a good candidate, we are left to wonder why you want to be here on a website for actual conservatives.

The absolutely conclusive case against Romney has been stated and restated here for years. It is every bit as conclusive as the case against Obozo. What annoys you is the fact that actual conservatives have higher standards than do Romney love slaves. That's your cue to earnestly claim that you supported someone else in the rigged primaries. So what? You voted for Romney which is every bit as damning as would be a vote for Obozo. There ain't a dime's worth of difference between the two of them other than whose friends get the loot.

Fieldmarshaldj voted for Goode over the two evils. I voted for Eternal Vigilance over the two evils. You voted for evil in GOP-E drag. You are in no position to lecture conservatives for being conservative. There are more of us with each passing GOP-E nomination. 4 million last time. How many million this time in the event of Jebbie or his equivalent? More than 4 million. That's for sure.

These are supposed to be elections of POTUS not POSUS. Maybe this time the GOP will get its act together and nominate a fire-breathing conservative. If not, say hello to President Hillary.

If the 2016 nomination is purchased by the $$$$ obsessive and utterly unprincipled greedheads, the GOP loses again but that is far preferable to the final demise of the GOP as a party dedicated to resisting the leftist agenda.

There is not one person on FR can claim ignorance of Rmney’s record or the GOPs. If these people continue vote for that evil, they do so with full knowledge they support evil.

Period.

Which makes them ail as any Democrat.

Period. A real one, not an Obama one. There is no longer room for excuses.

Apparently there are lots still spewing the party pimp line. Folks like the idiot in this thread ought to be shown the door, they aren’t interested in Conservative principles, just a meaningless R vs. D (where both represent the far left) pre-determined, fixed “contest.” Like in the South Park episode, “Are you voting for turd sandwich or big giant douche ?”

There is no point to complaining about Obama if one did not effectively vote against him.

Fast forward to 2016 and you will see the same drama play out here again. If it's not X, someone is not voting. So we have Obama destroying my country, my state, my Air Force, and people are whining on the Internet. Now we have a Moslem President forming international alliances to defend Iran's nuclear program with worse to come. I see a United States I never thought to see, and it changed so quickly. How was our military turned into a political homosexual friendly club ? What happened to the patriotic officer corps ?

af_vet_1981:

Romney would have done absolutely no better and, worse, would have destroyed the Republican brand name permanently.

Since you apparently need to be reminded:

Romney was the perpetrator of Romneycare and then sent his unprincipled co-conspirators to DC to help Obozo craft Obozocare.

Gay friendly? When the Supreme Judicial Court of Taxachusetts stacked with radicals appointed by Taxachusetts governors indistinguishable from Romney decided that the 18th century Taxachusetts constitution, written by John Adams, obviously (!!??!!) provided anal perverts with an "equal right" to "marry" but included no enforcement mechanism, Willard filled the gap by "executive order" (sound familiar?) ordering town clerks statewide to issue "gay""marriage" "licenses" or face is attorneys in court.

Baby-killing? Willard and his daddy and his mommy and his entire known family have been rampaging pro-aborts since well before Roe vs. Wade. Willard organized a business to profit from the disposal of the little corpses in such a way as to keep the pro-lifers from photographing and showing the public the results of "choice."

Willard reportedly got a pass from Mormon leadership to be a social revolutionary on the campaign trail in violation of every Mormon social and moral principle.

Willard was no more inclined to reduce the size of Taxachusetts government than was Obozo to reduce the fedgov.

Willard has never seen a military expenditure he could like. Unless, in an unlikely scenario, Willard had a defense company to profit from.

In the POTUS debate, Dudley Doright suddenly became totally tongue-tied on resistance to the Islamofascists. Foreign policy just doesn't interest ANYONE named Romney by comparison with their obsessive business greed for themselves and the greedy pigs of their "class."

Romney expressed his contempt for the "47%." He should have been asked about his attitude about the lowest 90%.

More available on request.

There is also no point to complaining about Willard if one did not vote against HIM, effectively or otherwise. Any voter, reasonably disgusted by trash like Obozo and like Romney, who does not reject BOTH has NO CREDIBILITY and is nothing but a willing victim.

There was no point to voting for Willard or for Obozo in 2012. That's why so many of refused to do so. If this nation is going to be destroyed, let that be at the feet of the Demonrats. I won't vote for them but I won't vote for despicable creatures like Willard either.

Nominate another Willard and get the same result with even more defections with each passing election. As to the GOP: we actual conservatives will RULE OR RUIN.

It is also time to apply the same standards to Congress. In 2016, the Illinois GOP-E will want me to vote for Mark "Nancyboy" Kirk. He is a pro-abort and an enthusiast for all things lavender. I did not vote for him last time and I never will. The same treatment should be afforded McConnell, Cornyn, Alexander, Corker, Thad Cockroach, Boehner, McCarthy, Scalise and the rest of the liars and corporate whores in DC.

What happened to the military??? We know how eager for change the Demonrats were. Many Republicans turn a blind eye to the GOP contribution which is to ignore the lavenderization of the military as boring and none of their business because the US Chaber of Crony Commerce wants them focused on profits and only on profits.

If the establishment anoints a pig vomit ringer for the third time in a row (El Jebbe, Stay Puft Chrispy, Gary Condit’s best buddy Kasich, et al), it will be exceedingly easy to vote 3rd party in 2016 (probably Trump).

Romney would have done absolutely no better and, worse, would have destroyed the Republican brand name permanently.

I find it amazing that we're still educating people as to WHY four million conservatives stayed home in 2012.

Since well before the 2008 election, reams of irrefutable facts, information, and reasoned analysis about Mitt Romney, have been presented on this website for ALL to see.

The final analysis? The man is very likely an agent of the Globalist Cartel, who was employed to lead the Republican faithful into oblivion once and for all.

Anyone who's read here on a regular basis over the last ten years, has NO excuse for still having a soft spot for Romney, or for believing that he (somehow) "would have been better than Obama!"

In truth, we actually dodged a bullet with his loss.

I don't know if I will vote for Trump but, as of now, I don't trust him on the the naming of SCOTUS and other fedjudges, on issues such as the babies, on marriage, on guns, on sufficiently funding the military, on keeping the grubby paws of the Romneys and the greedmeisters of Wall Street and K Street and the US Chambers of Crony Commerce and the globaloneyists off the GOP and our nation's public policy.

The candidate that I will vote for will also have to have a coherent plan for restoring the industrial manufacturing base of the United States, respect for the man or woman who works with his or her hands for a living, sensible slashing of the education racket (higher as well as elementary and secondary) which teaches soooooo very little other than historical, cultural and moral illiteracy and Marxism/atheism at such skyrocketing expense.

It is nice that Trump is willing to fully embrace the anti-illegal immigration fury of Republican and other American voters but it is not enough. It is nice that he promises to incinerate Obozo's unconstitutional surrender to the mullahs but it is not enough. He likely has a supply of brain cells to apply to restoring the middle class and working class, but it is not enough.

Nonetheless, the answer to your question is that it is too early for deciding what I would do if Trump were the GOP nominee. That can be decided a year from now and more and need not be decided unless and until he is nominated. While I am quite unlikely to vote for Trump in a primary when such superior candidates as Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson and even Marco Rubio (I have some but fewer trust issues there too) are available.

In 2012, the GOP-e nominated Mitt (the abortion facilitator) Romney, who was AT LEAST AS BAD as Obozo unless profit is one's god. I had voted GOP in EVERY POTUS election since voting for Milhous in 1968 (against my better judgment), holding my nose while doing so in most elections not featuring Ronaldus Maximus as the Republican nominee and particularly when voting for Feckless Ford, Bush the Elder, Robert Tax Collector for the Welfare State Dole, and John McCain. In 2012, Eternal Vigilance finally convinced me that I was in the habit of being USED by my and this nation's "Republican" enemies.

If the GOP wants my vote and a rapidly increasing number of formerly reliable Republican voters who take their conservatism FAR more seriously than do the whores in the back room at Chase Manhattan, the GOP will have to earn our votes the old-fashioned way by nominating candidates ACTUALLY WORTH VOTING FOR. If not, oh well.... Just a teensy smidgeon better on money is NOT enough.

Trump should take note lest he suffer the fate of Ford, McCain and Romney before him.

I will not, at my advanced age, allow the GOP-e greedmeisters to scare me into line with the old Demonratic Boogeyman arguments. That is all over with now. If this nation simply MUST be further ruined, it won't be by a "Republican" that I voted for.

Seeing as how a new election is upon us the the "you either vote with the GOP or the DEM's" nonsense has now begun I figured we all need a anthem of sorts to celebrate the huge differences between the GOP and DEMs. Ok here it is.

Both Parties full of Sleaze I'll let them crap on me and sell us out. Party of the Bush/Rove-Bot McCain and Romney Rot, with Liberalism from the corporate lot, Help Obama crap on me.

My Boehner craps on me beloved McConnell too you see for GOP-E. Sellout to Obammas way they do it now every day but GOP Voting is the only way???, Obama craps on me.

My Party GOP-E sells out my Liberties to Obama with glee. They'll not rest until Elitist robbed tills & citizens pay all their bills & Obama craps on me.

But Dems we will not be they're bad Oh Yes indeed Obama craps on me. They're all a huge disgrace corruption rampant every place and GOP-E helps Obama all the way to Crap On Me.

Now in case you've been in a Coma for the past eight years the GOP has has sat & done nothing while Obama has ran roughshod. No I take that back the GOP-E took over the Republican Party back when Boehner {Look this up if you don't believe me" booted Newt out as Speaker in a Coup Booehner himself masterminded. Do you see a problem yet?

The GOP-E did nothing when GW Smirks was POTUS, nor before against Slick Wille for that matter they did nothing afterward when Bush then Obama won and they lost. Even after loosing both houses they still did nothing. They won again and what is the GOP in congress doing? NOTHING!!!! A few GOP Conservative Hero's now few and far between.

I didn't vote for Bob Corker ever. Nor Lamar Alexander except when he ran for governor. Last time Corker ran I voted for a DEM and I gladly did so for the first time in my life. But I doubt you would understand why a lot of Tennessee Freepers did. Because the DEM was a better Conservative who ran on the DEM ticket and the Dem Party nearly had a calf once they saw someone got on their ticket to challenge their beloved friend across the aisle Bob Corker.

Party voting gave us GW Bush twice and he did not deserve a second term. GW Bush and buffoons in congress gave us Obama. Say what? Yeap they sure did. How? Not just any Obama mind you but one who had a huge list of brand new expanded federal programs and new Executive powers that many Freepers nearly whizzed in their pants with joy when they were given to Bush. Bush was too Busy appeasing the Chamber of Commerce. We Warned You ALL!!!! The political enemy is the LIBERALS & I mean ALL LIBERALS IN OFFICE.

I don't give a rats arse what party letter follows their name if they are corrupt or a liberal I refuse to vote for such for any reason. My vote goes to who deserves it not who's turn it is because some scumbag Lobbyist & Media decrees it. Oh BTW I voted for Virgil Goode also. But I haven't voted for a Bush since 1992. Nor will I vote for will now.

Ronald Wilson Reagan was the last POTUS who respected and cared for the well being and readiness of our armed forces. It will take another Reagan to begin our way back and I only see one and he doesn't do reality shows nor is he GOP-E. Sixteen candidates running and maybe two have what it takes to help fix our nation. Something stinks real bad about this election. Conservatives are being played by Team Romney. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

ONe more rant. Where was the GOP when Murtha was running his own personal persecution crusade against our troops deployed in combat. What did congress do? What did W do? What did Rummy or Gates do? Which is why a LTCDR in Tennessee is fixing to be Court Martialed because no one in congress gives a rats arse in either party. They haven't now for over 25 years and I'd put Cheney in the list with Rummy and the rest as well. That is what Ticket Party Voting Gets A Nation.

Great rant. Sadly wasted on the individual for whom you directed it to besides myself who can only see “R vs. D” instead of right vs. wrong. I got wise to that in the ‘90s.

The RINO Establishment are rolling the base and they believe there will be no consequences for that. I’ll give the Democrats credit. If they screwed their base like the establishment screws ours, they’d be out on their ass in short order. Their base wants radical leftism, they give it to them. The GOP base wants a return to Constitutional values, but the “leaders” Weeping Boner and Zero’s Bitch Mitch give them (us) the middle finger and continue on a leftist course.

Excellent points, BlackElk. My teenagers were asking me recently about my voting intentions in the primary. I pointed out that we have no idea who will be on our ballot by the time next May rolls around, but that I favor Cruz, Walker, Rubio, and Carson, in varying degrees.

Three of the gormless Offspring will be able to vote in the NC primary, for what it’s worth - which is nothing, but their votes could matter in the local mayor’s race.
