Trump Leads GOP Outsiders Surge in First Post-Debate Poll (Trump 23%)
Breitbart ^ | 9 Aug 2015 | Mike Flynn

Posted on 08/09/2015 11:10:51 AM PDT by Red Steel

The survey, conducted Friday and Saturday, finds Donald Trump holding his lead with 23 percent support among Republican primary voters. This is consistent with a Gravis Marketing poll taken after the debate, where 19 percent of Republicans said Trump won the debate.

The Gravis poll found that more Republicans, 22 percent, felt Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon and political rookie, won the debate. In the NBC poll, Carson surged into third place in the nomination contest, earning 11 percent support.

Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was the second choice in the NBC Poll, receiving support from 13 percent of Republican voters. Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina was fourth, with 11 percent, following her widely recognized domination of the “undercard” debate earlier Thursday evening.

The exact breakdown and percentage of the first seven spots in the NBC poll are: Trump (23), Cruz (13), Carson (11), Fiorina (8), Rubio (8), Bush (7) and Walker (7).

In other words, the highest poll ranking of a candidate acceptable to the Republicans in D.C. is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), in fifth place with just 8 percent. This is stunning considering the obvious attacks on Trump by Fox moderators, ...

In the post-debate analysis, Fox News roundly criticized Trump and heaped praise on Rubio and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a former Fox News anchor.

Obviously the NBC News poll is the first of many post-debate polls and the nomination contest is still in its very early days. Trump created a silly controversy for himself with an attack on Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly over the weekend, which isn’t factored into this poll’s results.

...

On Saturday, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who is inexplicably also running for President, said Donald Trump was “inflicting permanent damage on the GOP.” He wants him booted

About all of Luntz's handpicked panel said Trump lost. The majority said they liked Trump in the beginning and they were almost against Trump but three for Trump after the debate. This flies in the face against all the evidence to the contrary.

Article,
"A Fox News focus group just torched Donald Trump after the debate"

"A Fox News panel of Republican voters had harsh sentiments for real-estate magnate Donald Trump's performance Thursday night during the first Republican presidential debate.

After the debate, Fox's panel of 23 Republican voters voiced their overwhelming disapproval with Trump, citing his "mean" personality and veiled threat to run as a third-party candidate.

"You know, what happened, I liked him when I came in here because he wasn't a politician. But right now, he skirted around questions better than a lifelong politician ever had," one respondent told Republican pollster Frank Luntz, who conducted the focus group. ... -snip-

Before the debate, 14 voters on the panel said they had a favorable view of Trump. After the debate, only three said they still saw the reality-television personality positively. ..."

Penn and Teller pegged Luntz pretty good in their BS episode. Watch the 4 min. video salty lang.:

It has to be said, the Gravis poll also showed, Paul as the biggest loser but Trump 2nd losing. How they can say Dr. Ben won, I have no idea but if you read the details, they seemingly did poll over 900 registered Republicans.

The first debate was interesting but I would not exaggerate its importance.

He and Erickson need a few months at the Fat Farm. Maybe they're taking a break from politics.

Along with Rove and Christie! Erickson may be one of the ugliest personalities I've ever seen. He looks like the identical twin of Ed Schultz.

3 of the top 4 have never held elective office before. Sad state of affairs for the GOP. Hillary is jubilant.

RE: Frank Putz

Yep, I saw it on the repeat airing.

Frank Putz has a job all right, to create a panel of pussies to help steer the GOPe towards its kamikaze flight into oblivion.

This is nothing more than the fraudulent "compassionate conservative" neutering of the (R)eaganite party. Putz is a metrosexual girly man, and so were almost all of his participants. These are the very members of the (R)epublicrat establishment that gave us a Massachusetts liberal mormon. They ticked off all the boxes to snuff the "conservative" fire that burned their dainty little fingers.

Frank Putz is like Global Warming scientists that alter the data to prove a pre-determined conclusion, his job is to supply aid and comfort to the (R)inos. Foxey News loves him for this. Sean Hannity could dump him but appears to be more a loyal employee of Murdoch than a Conservative.

Yes it looks like I was probably guilty of using the wrong term for it too.

Establishment sounds like the best answer, but Elites may have been the original.

Who knows?

I don't know a lot about Erickson, but when he's substituted for Rush, I've never listened more than a few minutes.

“Trump/Cruz
or
Trump/Carson
or
Trump/Fiorina”

First choice.
Second choice.
Third choice.
Respectively!

“Trump (23), Cruz (13), Carson (11)

Hehehe...the RINOs, the media, and the DNC don’t like what the American people are brewing up.”
______________________________________________________________________________

Granted this an online poll with connections to NBC, but.... if you add Fiorina (8) to this list, then the top 4 in the poll get 55% and are all outsiders/anti-GOPe. Feels about right..says much about the state of the GOP and the country.

In Linseed's world, it's not voters he sees as empowered, but those that run the party should get to call the shots and unwelcome upstarts, no matter their percentage of following (is LG up to 1% yet?) political accumen, or merit of his take on the the issues, it's what LG should be considered politically correct, bend over and take it behavior, because in his experience, it's going to be coming again and again and again.

HF

P.S. LadyL, "GOPe" is short for "Grand Old Party-elite"

And the top four took 55 percent of the Republican votes, and all four are anti-establishment. Either the GOP and RNC will wake up and change, or they will be gone within a decade.

Fieornia or whatever her name is, she's done. Maybe she can get the political skank Ms. Kelly to support her.

Three out of the top four are outsiders and the one insider is the only bona fide conservative of the lot, with the GOPe bunch at the bottom, so VERY encouraging news right now. Let’s hope the actual primaries will reflect this apparent revolt of the peasants.
