Kasich defends immigrants as 'contributing significantly'

DERRY, N.H. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate John Kasich defended millions of immigrants in the U.S. illegally as "people who are contributing significantly" to the nation, taking on a divisive issue Wednesday as he promised to redefine conservatism during his latest New Hampshire appearance.

Kasich, a second-term Ohio governor, addressed immigration among other delicate political issues before a crowd of more than 200 packed into a small VFW hall, his second public stop in a two-day swing through the first-in-the-nation primary state. Kasich remains one of the lesser-known 17 Republican White House hopefuls, yet a strong debate performance in his home state last week has produced fresh signs of momentum.

Introducing himself to many New Hampshire voters for the first time this week, he offered a pragmatic approach to national politics likely to antagonize some of his party's more conservative voters.

He quickly dismissed a questioner during an afternoon town hall-style meeting who suggested immigrants in the country illegally are a burden on the system.

"A lot of these people who are here are some of the hardest-working, God-fearing, family-oriented people you can ever meet," Kasich said to a smattering of polite applause.

Jeb Junior getting no traction with "Look, the illegal just did a job Americans won't do" BS plus defending Jeb in the process. He's just eliminated himself from VP consideration. Look for him to sink further into the lower tier.

Junior Jeb, love it and it is very fitting.

Kasich is trying to lever his states number of electors. He knows he has no chance on trump or cruz’s ticket so he is hoping beyond hope, Jeb Junior pulls it off or if not him, perhaps him with a boost from Jeb Junior and Carly.

And none of that precludes their status as a burden on the system - a system they haven't paid into, can't pay into and won't pay into.

Other than that, they're just ducky.

Yes, Kasich, LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. People that follow the law, pay taxes, and are morally responsible.

Yep, “Contributed significantly” to gang rapes, child rapes, hit and run and drunken driving ‘accidents,” random murders, MS13 activities.

Illegals do contribute - they contribute votes to politicians who support them and they contribute to the bottom line of companies that employ them.

To the rest of us they're a unmeasurable burden.

To claim we all benefit from their presence is a lie Mr Kasich will also have to explain to St Peter along with his apparent advocacy of gay marriage.

Criminalians saw fit to deport themselves from their home country to this one, rather than do it legally. They can just deport themselves back. And if they won’t deport themselves back, someone else is fair game to do the deporting for them.
