BERLIN — A surge in xenophobic attacks and hate speech targeting asylum seekers in Germany is igniting a firestorm in the nation where the Nazis taught the dangers of intolerance.
Prominent personalities have condemned the attacks as well as a recent rash of public vitriol on social media and elsewhere. Anja Reschke, an anchorwoman for German public broadcaster ARD, for instance, touched off a national debate after an on-air commentary blasting refugee bashing. Soon after airing, the segment went viral, with 15 million hits and counting.
In it, Reschke bluntly said what many others here have feared to — condemning the haters as well as calling out those Germans who have remained silent. To make her point, she used the terminology of the Nazi era, earning a bravo from some while angering others.
“If you’re not of the opinion that all refugees are spongers who should be hunted down, burned or gassed, then you should make that known very clearly,” she said in her commentary.
The spot, she said in an interview with The Washington Post, provoked an outpouring of support — but also a flood of even fouler comments aimed at her.
“I received e-mails saying, ‘Let the hag burn’ and calling me a ‘negro-gypsy-whore,’ ” said Reschke, a white ethnic German. “And then there were the people who said, ‘Look, I’m afraid our race is getting polluted by all those evil people from the whole of Africa, but no, I’m not a Nazi.’ ”

When I saw the word “hag” in the title, I thought this was going to be a Hillary thread. Seriously.
Nobody wants their country inundated with the srum of Africa and the Mideast. That’s not diversity its suicide.
It is so nice to not only get a news report but a one paragraph education on the german people

And here I thought they taught the dangers of an all-powerful state bent on world conquest. But that's what International Socialism strives toward, and everyone knows there's nothing wrong with International Socialism. So what was the other thing they did... burn the Jews? No, the International Socialists want to do that too.

That’s an honest mistake, if there ever was one.
Title made me think this was a Hillary thread.
I would make these four observations (I actually live in Germany):
1. Within 25 years, if they don’t do immigration...the population of Germany will sink from 80 million to around 65 million (university study from spring of this year did the data). Political folks are looking at the jobs, pension, social structure and generally agree immigration will have no choice but occur.
2. If you looked at a cohesive refugee/immigration program....this is a marginal two-star program and been dumped down to the state level rather than run by the German federal gov’t. Aggravated locals are upset about the price tag and the growing numbers (they will hit one million for 2015, if the trend continues).
3. National elections are fall of 2017, but several state elections will occur before that point, and there’s some feelings that right-wing elements will win and push the top five parties down a notch. Presently, if you wrote up the top three campaign issues or hot topics...pension reform, the economy and corruption are way down on the list....while immigration and refugees are probably top chat subject (something not of the political guys like and national media won’t discuss).
4. Robbery and crime....are on the increase, but have nothing to do with the refugee/immigration crowd. That’s the amusing part of the story. There are a large segment of folks from Bulgaria and Romania who are roaming the country and stealing cars left and right. Everyone knows someone who has been robbed over the past couple of years. My next door neighbor had the car parked out front of the house and they took it (five year old Audi).
It was put into effect to stem the rise of illiberal political radicals (i.e., Nazis and Communists), not out of some purported, higher "moral consciousness" as its proponents pretend.
Remove the mono-ethnic and mono-cultural underpinning and weaken the welfare state through mass immigration, and Surprise! the political violence it was intended to solve re-emerges.
Germany can have political peace and a welfare state; or, it can have mass immigration. Given its history, it cannot have both.

That’s the great fraud of the debate
Either allow mass immigration of non-European peoples who have no cultural, linguistic or ethnic connection to Germany, who mostly wind up on the public dole
Or you are all NAZIS!

PC, mulit-culty cabal is meant to stifle and intimidate populations.
It’s purposes to keep people and their honest opinions quite. They don’t want anyone being independent or judgement. Anyone voicing opposition is labeled insensitive, racist, nazi, bigot etc.
The same exact thing is happening in America and has been for decades now. This is likely directly related to the drive for a one world order, or a central global government. Once the united and somewhat independent countries are flooded and divided from within, it makes them much easier to control. Divide the united. Been going on in America for a few decades now.
Somehow I do not think that was their intent...
Maybe all those refugees, just want to become Aryans? The Germans are still trying to cope with all the Turks they let in to work and stayed. I don’t think they have it in them to do anything about it, even if you think its 1930 again, it isn’t. They’ve become to liberal.
