A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting that was broadcast live Wednesday morning.
Alison Parker and Adam Ward, a reporter and cameraman for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, Parker's mother confirmed to CBS News.
WDBJ-TV reports that deputies from Franklin County and Bedford County were on the scene.
The shooting happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.

One of my thoughts was the ex of the cameraman’s fiance. She is leaving for Charlotte. The camera guy was shot first I think.
You’d think they would release a name for the BOLO by now.
Eerily similar to the Va Tech shooting in 2007. 2 killed early and then all Hell broke loose later.
Allowing the video to go out allowed millions of people to analyze it, among whom some noticed that the killer is in the video, and now there’s a picture of the killer out there already so people can be on the lookout.
Putting that video out may end up having saved lives.
I’m sure nobody in the time delay loop expected a routine early morning human interest story in Whitebread VA to end up like this.
The shots were fired very rapidly. No chance for cover.
Sounds like there is a chance this is an ISIS inspired lone wolf, maybe the kid gloves of CNN and others following the Obama view that they are only terrorists changes. Meaning not emphasis that they are Islamic terrorists.
Both were shot. The one on the left died. The one on the right is in surgery. The cameraman is also dead.

It looks like cameraman first but that could be because he was a hefty dude with a big camera. He had to go down first.
