Some are calling it the height of hypocrisy, bordering on demagoguery.
Nikki Haley, South Carolinas Republican governor, came out last Thursday and blasted possible White House plans to bring Guantanamo Bay prisoners to her state.
The governor called a news conference and didnt mince words.
We are absolutely drawing a line that we are not going to allow any terrorist to come into South Carolina, Haley said. We are not going to allow that kind of threat, we are not going to allow that kind of character to come in.
...
Yet, at the same time she was drawing a red line against Gitmo terrorists who would stay locked in a brig off the coast of Charleston, Haley was opening her arms wide to welcome refugees from jihadist strongholds in the Middle East and Africa.

As WND has reported in a series of more than 35 articles over the past year, the refugee program has been fraught with problems. Chief among them has been young men entering the U.S. as refugees and turning out to be terrorists. Some, such as the two Iraqis in Bowling Green, Kentucky, or the Uzbek man resettled in Boise, Idaho, harbored ill intent against America from day one. But others, such as the six Somalis from Minnesota who were arrested after repeatedly trying to join ISIS, or the two brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon, were radicalized after they came to the U.S. as young boys.
According to information supplied recently by Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., at least 72 cases have been documented in just the past year of Muslim immigrants becoming involved in terrorist activity.

SC never stops electing foolish Republican politicians to office.
UNBELIEVABLE
thank God
That’s the damned truth
The last good ones above the House were Strom Thurmond and Carroll Campbell.
She is an absolute disappointment for everyone
Per Wikipedia, she was born in the US of legally immigrated parents. If so, she is a natural born American citizen. Whether she is doing right in the matters referenced here is a separate discussion.
Wikipedia does not determine eligibility for POTUS, Article II, Sec 1 Clause 5 of the United States Constitution does.
"The citizenship of no man could be previous to the declaration of independence, and, as a natural right, belongs to none but those who have been born of citizens since the 4th of July, 1776."....David Ramsay, 1789.
So, she’s an anchor baby?
Technically no. Apparently her parents immigrated legally.
The Governor should also consider the danger that SC will be in if it were to house these bearded barbarians. Their terrorist friends will expend every effort to free the prisoners by any means available. Think Beslan and other muzzie terrorist acts. Also remember that an enriched Iran will play a role in the forced release of the prisoners. SC will not be a safe place after the prisoners are settled in the state. A bad Obama type of move.
Somebody needs to get her away from the stupid pills.
Golly ...
Governor Haley was born in the US of parents legally in the US subject to US law. Thus, she is a natural born citizen of the US.
As is plain from any sensible reading of my first post, the Wiki reference was to the site of her birth, not as authority about law of natural citizenship.
As pertains to US natural born citizenship, please refer to the Naturalization Act of 1798, and henceforh refrain from ill-informed comments.
Note the reference to Natural Law in the first sentence of our Declaration of Independence.
It is crystal clear that the Founding Fathers used the Natural Law definition of 'natural born Citizen' when they wrote Article II. By invoking "The Laws of Nature and Nature's God" the 56 signers of the Declaration incorporated a legal standard of freedom into the forms of government that would follow.
President John Quincy Adams, writing in 1839, looked back at the founding period and recognized the true meaning of the Declaration's reliance on the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." He observed that the American people's "charter was the Declaration of Independence. Their rights, the natural rights of mankind. Their government, such as should be instituted by the people, under the solemn mutual pledges of perpetual union, founded on the self-evident truth's proclaimed in the Declaration."
The Constitution, Vattel, and Natural Born Citizen: What Our Framers Knew
The Supreme Court of the United States has never applied the term natural born citizen to any other category than those born in the country of parents who are citizens thereof.
