How is that assault?

Jumping on someone's back or grappling at them from behind is the very definition of an assault... unless you're an imbecile. Then when someone jumps you from behind it's not an assault, it's an opportunity to bash the candidate who's not your guy.

In that case, armed security details should just allow people to jump on them and possibly grab their weapons.

When you have seconds to act, the ops will be there in minutes.

PS - I don't give a flying f--k who or what is "leading in the polls". ..

What you do "give a flying f--k" about is stirring the pot in Trump threads and antagonizing his supporters, as you've done in a serial manner.

You should simply come out against him instead of feigning concern for him, his security detail and his supporters, when you're not really concerned at all.

Its too early to give undying support to any candidate. All I can say for sure is no to Lindsay and Jeb! Oh, and Mitt should stay home. I won’t trash Trump, though; he opens the discussion to the politically incorrect, and he doesn’t apologize for saying what he believes.

Some FReepers like their politics bean-bag and kewpie-doll sweet.

I like brass knuckles when called for, and the USA is worth 200 million sets of brass knuckles swinging right now. Clutching out pearls and wringing our hands against the Left’s 24/7/365 assault got us where we are now, Nationless.

And ripping the sign out of his hand was not assault? It wasn’t strong-arm robbery?

Sorry, but if you rip something out of my hand, you’re damn right I’m going to take it right back. And it would be justified. New York law allows the use of physical force to prevent or terminate a larceny:

“A person may use physical force, other than deadly physical force,
upon another person when and to the extent that he or she reasonably believes such to be necessary to prevent or terminate what he or she reasonably believes to be the commission or attempted commission by such other person of larceny or of criminal mischief with respect to property other than premises”

So you’re OK with Trump’s goon committing strong-arm robbery?

I loved it! Finally, some men with balls and who are not afraid of Politically correct feminine actions to any situation.

If they don’t do what they are told to do, kick their asses and if done enough, they might actually obey rules and laws.

I would have loved to be there and be the one to paste the wetback in his snozola.

In reality, we were watching history in the making...an actual male being a real male.

The only one here who broke any rules or laws was Trump’s goon who committed strong arm robbery. But you seem perfectly OK with that....

The guy that attacked the security guard was not holding the banner in question, he was holding a Mexican Flag. He’s damn lucky the guard only slapped his dumb arse.

"Larceny" too. Thanks for the chuckle.

I won't get in the way of you making yourself look ridiculous.

Y-E-S. We’re not a nation of laws anymore, and if we have to fight by Jungle Rules, I want to WIN by Jungle Rules.

You just keep up your knitting or quilting or whatever.

You, my liberal teacher, don’t even know if the wetback was on private or public property.

Did you see the sidewalk where he was standing? If so, was it the sidewalk (which is public) or was it on the concrete apron of the Trump Tower...WHICH IS PRIVATE!

Hell no, you don’t know for you feel you know it all.

If the sign and attack occurred on the public sidewalk, there’s questions to be answered. If it happened on the apron of the entrance to the Trump Tower it was TRESPASS and was illegal. The guard had every right to “dot his eyes” for his communistic disregard of private property.

When you can send me pictures of the sidewalk and where it joins the concrete apron to the tower, I will apologize and “eat crow” if he is standing on public property.

As far as I am concerned there is never an appropriate time to give undying support to a politician.

I most definitely agree with you about Graham, Bush and Romney - and I’d add Rick Perry to that list as well (although I have not heard much about him lately.

My jury is still out on most of the others, including Donald Trump, despite the lies a certain Trumpbot is telling about me on this thread.

In the video, the man is standing on a sidewalk a couple of feet from the curb of a public road when the security guy grabs the sign. He is almost certainly in a public right of way.

I won't get in the way of you making yourself look ridiculous.

That is just so typical of you Trump supporters - you resort to mockery when you can't respond on the merits.

I'll explain this in simple terms:

If you take someone else's property (regardless of value) without the person's permission, that is larceny.

If you do so through the use of physical force, that is strong-arm robbery (though different jurisdictions use different terms--off the top of my head, I don't know what NY calls it, or if it's just a different degree of larceny).

If someone commits (or attempts to commit) larceny, the victim has the right to use physical force to prevent or stop the larceny.

Here, the security guard stole the protester's property (the sign). That's larceny. He did it through physical force (ripping it out of the protester's hand). That's strong-arm robbery. The protester tried to stop the security guard by grabbing him and trying to take back the sign. That's justifiable use of (minimal) physical force.

That's not ridiculous. That's the law, in New York and pretty much everywhere else.

Agree. In another time, the headline could have been something like ‘Trump Security Defends Against Aggressive Mob’, depending on what the full story is.

Actually, I'm enjoying watching you write fantasy mini-novels regarding "larceny" and "strong arm robbery ... off the top of your head."

Please continue... then call the NYPD.
