In Revenge of the Sith, the emperor replaces Count Dooku, his elderly apprentice played by Christopher Lee, with a younger, more vigorous apprentice with puppydog eyes named Anakin Skywalker. It looks like GOP insiders and the Chamber of Commerce crowd have done much the same thing. Bush was supposed to be their anointed candidate but is faltering, and their backup candidate, Chris Christie, seems stuck in the polls. So they have chosen a new and more powerful apprentice for Bush, in the form of John Kasich.
Kasich is starting to gain traction in New Hampshire, which is filled with refugees from high-tax liberal Massachusetts who want to turn New Hampshire into a high-tax liberal state. But the problem is that Kasich is giving interviews and saying dumb things:
That's right! There are only three armed camps in Syria: the brutal Assad, the brutal Islamic State, and the brutal, diffuse "other" rebels, most of which are affiliated with Al-Nusra, the local franchise of Al Qaeda.
Every time liberals (and some Republicans) complain that we aren't doing enough to help "moderate" rebels, it is discovered that very often when we give them weapons, they wind up in the hands of Al Qaeda. That's why we paid $500,000,000 but could only find 60 rebels to train.
Donald Trump gets criticized for not knowing the obscure leaders of rebel groups, but Kasich is the true ignoramus, because he would have us give even more weapons to Al Qaeda.

Well, it’s not even 8 am and we’ve found our Stupidest Statement of the Day.
Facepalm. How about we kill them all and let God sort them out?
These guys, like Kasich, McCain, etc., don’t see Al Qaeda as a strategic threat - maybe a “nuisance” as Kerry said, but not a strategic threat. They think they can make use of Islamists, as they did in Afghanistan, to counter the real strategic threat, which they see as Russia. (Didn’t Romney tell us our main strategic threat is Russia?)
So, in their way of thinking, support Islamists - whether al Qaeda or whatever - to topple Russia’s puppet Assad, while feeding the American people some pablum that they’re supporting “moderates,” and then work out some sort of bribe that they think will keep the Islamists under control.
Earlier this guy accused the Republican, I repeat Republicans, of promoting Godlessness same sex this and that. Now he wants US to fund what ? Not the Kurds, not Isarelies, or the Christians. But Al Queada ? WOW!
Anyone that say out loud “we should arm Al Quada” needs to be locked up for the duration of the “War on Terror.
This ^^^^^^
Dear mr. kasich,
instead of ‘giving money to al-qaeda’, why not spend the money on nukes, and deliver THEM to al-qaeda, from 25000 feet, at the speed of sound?
“...if we funded Al Qaeda”
Wasn’t that who we funded in Afghanistan...just to have to then go in there and try to clean up the place?
Another example of why I say that John Kasich is a mental case.
That would not be the FIRST time though!!!
Now, if we could just expand Medicaid to Syria.....
That’s what happens when you become a PROFESSIONAL politician and NOT for “We the People” and “For the People !!!
As a matter of principal, we must never fund/arm an enemy.
Haven’t been to Vermont in quite a while. How has it
been ruined?
