There is a serious flaw in your theory. A businessman who made his money building real things in the main street economy (versus shuffling paper on wall street) could never have succeeded by being a fiscal liberal, meaning distribute the wealth of the hard working to those who hardly work.
Then you add Trump’s unabashed nationalism, which no candidate since Reagan has preached, is satisfying the hunger in the populace is why he is winning by double digits everywhere in a giant field of 17.
As for social conservatism, at age nearing 70, almost all rational people morph conservative. Killing unborn life becomes seriously objectionable since your own life is nearing the end. And on the gay issue, Trump has lived his whole life as the red blooded American hetero male.

Jake wanted and insisted on a Worlds Fair and got it via political pressure. He promised the sky. The city nearly went bankrupt. Many individuals went bankrupt. Many were before that saying were going to be rich because the Worlds Fair is coming shelled out thousands to convert their carports into apartments for visitors to rent at several hundred a night. Landlords literally threw out tenants overnight. Jake promised the sky. People would not listen to reason and my ex father in law almost bought into it on the renting thing.
