CNN Debate Precursor – Night of The Long Knives – GOPe “Operation Hummingbird”
Conservative Treehouse ^ | Sept 13, 2015 | Sundance

Posted on 09/13/2015 3:36:52 PM PDT by MichelleWSC3

For two weeks we have been tracking closely the discussion, behavior, trends and analysis in several groups: the CNN team, the Salem Media team, the professional apparatus of the RNC, and the individual GOPe candidates. An overall theme is well established to aid in predicting what will follow – more on that later.

In the interim, here’s Jake Tapper explaining, well, actually I would assert “pre-justifying”, the approach to pit the candidates against each other. [*NOTE* Jake first made this accidental assertion of his intent at 3:05pm on September 11th]

Today Tapper discusses the goal to “pit the candidates against each other” against the backdrop of a discussion with CNN President Jeff Zucker, who apparently gave him the green light:

Trump can only be attacked from the right by someone to the right of him.

Notice that he has made nice with the two who are to the right of him (Cruz and Carson)...

Any attack on him by Bush, Christie or Kasich will be laughable at face value.

I find it very interesting that Trump very publicly signed a pledge, but the GOPe has done no such thing. I don't think that Trump is dumb enough to believe the GOPe would actually support him, even if his opponents flame out. This is setting Trump in a position to further expose the GOPe for the vicious little weasels they truly are.

And if the TV viewers see the debate for the ad hominen anti-Trump attack setup it really is, then we can expect another "Megynizing" on a massive scale by the public. We just aren't buying that GOPe crap anymore.

I posted an entire article from this site once and the moderator deleted it.

It has to be excepted.

I think them forgetting to ask the others to sign theirs will make Trumps pledge inoperative should they get too nasty. It’s really funny that they have a sure winner here and are dong anything and everything they can to croak him. Proves they answer to their donors rather than their voters. Hurts to hear that much of what lefty’s have said about GOPers in the past is at least partially true.

I am in your camp. The first gotcha question and I might just turn the TV off. But Trump is a big boy. He is from New York, and he knows these professional politicians quite well. Almost all of them have begged for campaign donation from Trump. He can make them look hypocritical by attacking him now, after asking him before for favors. He has excellent memory as the Graham cell phone episode proved.

I don’t see Carson as being to the Right of Trump At All.

Carson is as bad as Bush on immigration, taking the stance that deportation is immoral. He is not that solid on abortion, is too Left on the 2nd Amendment, and is a Pacifist, according to the teachings of his church.

The first debate was the final event of a district GoPee conference.

And it was in a basketball/convention arena that seated near 20,000, so they admitted a fairly large crowd including many Trump supporters. But it sounds like they are controlling, or stacking the much smaller audience that will be a the Reagan library event to be negative toward Trump.

1). Why ever have a debate on poorly rated CNN, MSNBC, etc?

2). Why ever have debate on a lefty news channel that has never treated Republicans and Conservatives fairly?

3). Why ever have a moderator? Put the question on the screen, give 30 seconds and randomly pick the order and have all candidates answer. That would be good, fair and instructive entertainment.

The only fair way to do it is put all the questions in a container, pick them by random, and give each candidate 1 minute to answer each. And also change the order of the candidates answering each time a new question is asked. This should be a demand of the GOPe. The moderators would be question readers and nothing else. NOTHING ELSE.

Trumo should buy an hour of air time opposite the debate to talk about his policies.

Trump has half a century negotiating tough deals under his belt.

Contrast the difference:

Dim candidate Sanders abandons the podium.

Jebbie shouted down and scuttles out

His responses are immediate, short, snappy and devastating….with no focus groups consumed in the process
