At the Dallas high school where he attends, Goode was up for disciplinary action by the school for wearing an American flag T-shirt underneath his hoodie. His mother was not ready to accept the punishment of her son and pushed for answers until the administration was in full retreat.

I’d say the chances are slim to none, and that slim just got shot out of the saddle on his way out of town.

Such contradiction. This boy will be required to sign up for selective service when he turns 18. He will be required to have total allegiance to the U.S. or face jail. But in school he is punished for showing his support with a shirt?

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

That was not a replica of the flag. It was a stylized stars and stripes with an eagle superimposed.

I'm way more worried about the idiot school administrators that keep doing this nation-wide until they get caught and flushed out. They are de-sensitizing us to the point where it won't be newsworthy anymore. Then they have won another round in the battle to criminalize being an American.

...wearing a replica of our flag is actually against flag protocol...

How about you take that up with the next uniformed member of the armed services or public safety that wear a flag patch on their uniform? Be sure to write back to let us know how that works out...

In the meantime, the kid was in contravention of the school requirement for a solid color shirt yet he was also wearing a solid gray color hoodie over it. Personally, I don't see wearing a hoodie in Texas at this time of the year but the kid was stretching a rule and he knew it.

If he was wearing a t-shirt with a mexican flag on it, the school would have given him an honorary la raza membership, and as a bonus he would have the opportunity to have his picture taken with rick perry.

Sheesh, now texas is trying to out-mexico california.

Political correctness has completely infected the Lone Star State.
They shouldn’t even call it Texas anymore. Shameful.

Here’s another one of these recent cases where a high school student, a member of the ROTC, was disciplined for wearing a t-shirt with an eagle and an American flag imprint on it:

There’s no law against it.
