The Actors on ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Exemplify Everything That’s Wrong With Liberalism
IJ Review ^ | 22 Sep 2015 | Kurt Schlichter

The most political show on television today involves shambling ghouls that feed on human flesh and the meat puppets who try to avoid being feasted upon. “Fear the Walking Dead,” the “Walking Dead” spin-off set at the beginning of the zombie outbreak, offers us a view of the liberal, sensitive type of people who put Obama into office and – probably inadvertently – demonstrates the utter moral and intellectual bankruptcy of everything they believe in.

Modern liberalism is an unfortunate byproduct of civilization. The fact that our lives are not largely devoted to hunting and gathering food and fighting off marauders who would rape, enslave, and/or kill us, allows a large segment of our society to forget that this is the natural state of man. You didn’t have liberals in the Dark Ages because a liberal would last about ten seconds, expiring with a spear through his guts after telling the local warlord that he disapproved “of this patriarchal, phallocentric, cisnormative power structure.”

Now, of course a substantial number of Americans pay tribute to humanity’s past by understanding human nature and often by preparing to confront the forces of chaos. These people are conservatives. We conservatives expect problems, and expect that we will have to solve them ourselves. We generally know how to hunt, to gather food, and we have guns and know how to use them. And we understand that society always – always – teeters on the edge of falling apart.

Gun owning father in law has saved a few lives that refused to accept that there was danger.

Lol not a good sign when you are actively rooting for the main characters to die. it’s just not working..at least for me anyway...but I imagine the hardcore fans will watch anyway and keep it going.

The writer echoes my feelings on this show: the wimpy liberals who put their trust in the God of government will be spectacularly unprepared if the SHTF. The only characters who have any common sense are the hispanic family who know how to use fire arms and don’t trust the government. It’s still a great show though.

I understand, but dragging it out over a whole season would be too much for me to actually like. To me the first needless death caused by it should be enough. I’m really tired of dragging story lines out....Lost was an example of this and it is why you hardly ever hear it mentioned. People just want to forget they got suckered by writers who smoked an a$$load of weed each week.

The immigrant father? He’s the only one with sense, understanding of the danger, willingness to protect his family, and he is trying to educate the others.

Yes, if you’re a fan of the Walking Dead. The family is liberal in the sense that the mom and dad are a teacher and a social worker, but the liberalism stops there. Rick Grimes is a tough Southern cop and the main characters on this show are wimpy west coast liberals, but it does add a sense of vulnerability that is not in Walking Dead.

If you believe in any sort of situational awareness, emergency preparedness, self-reliance, or basic common sense in real life, this isn’t the show for you (you will be yelling at the tv A LOT).

TWD is light years better, since at least those characters are paraniod as heck, as they should be.

"I keep waiting for the FTWD people to begin to face reality and man up and for the worthless teens to grow up."

Druggies Mom is starting to live in the reality of the Zombiepocalypse.

Her trip outside the fence where she saw the dead guy with the gun (who was not a zombie but had been shot) made her question what role the soldiers are playing. Then seeing the people in the house across the valley were signaling back to her and knowing the soldiers claimed no one is alive out there is starting to make her question what is actually going on.

On the other hand Travis (her libtard fiance who hates guns) is just a moron. I hope he gets eaten!

Most of you don't get it. Of course the characters are gooey Liberals who don't or can't understand what's happening in a land of Obamacare, free EFT cards, and Eric Holder's black racism. We get to watch these airheads get it in the shorts. That makes it much more dramatic than, say, walking dead attacking my shooting club's gun range on a Saturday. I do agree that the National Guard character are needlessly two dimensional and stupid. Not one would last a week in the military I know. But then again, this is TV drama, not The Division Officer's Handbook.

I really like Z-Nation on SyFy. It started off as a single season throwaway knockoff of WD but they threw a little humor into it and made it a hit.

Zombie pole dancers, oh hell yeah.

Some like storylines that get right to the point, Mrs. SZonian for example...I like to know a little bit about what makes the characters “tick”...

This storyline, although slow, is starting to inject some mystery into their circumstances...they’re starting to realize that all is not what it seems, that maybe the NG and gov’t. aren’t their “friends” as they’ve been taught for generations to believe.

The uninfected dead bodies lying in the streets with headshots, the violence in subduing the druggie son, taking the wife with the broken foot but not the husband, etc.

I think that may help explain why in TWD there isn’t much, if any, military presence left...

If I get suckered, oh well...it kept me reasonably entertained until TWD comes back on.

I don’t watch much weeknight TV, so never caught on to LOST.

I don’t know. I’m not disposed to the stupidity of life-choices, particularly with regard to liberals. To me, they’re the ones that died in the first few weeks of TWD, and I’ve never given them a second thought.

I’m not interested in the angst and tribulations of a liberal finally ‘getting it’ in the midst of a civilization ending event. To me we are better off without them from the gitgo except as a possible foil in the old Attacking Bear joke about why one guy asks the other why he’s putting on his running shoes.

I maintain that Fallout New Vegas is a perfect political analogy.

It is nothing less than a modern day fable and warning of everything we are seeing today.

Understood and I don’t condemn your interest. That sort of thing just isn’t for me.

And, as far as Lost goes, if you’re ever locked up, bedridden or incapacitated and want a diversion that will in the end piss you off greatly, I recommend it highly. :0)

Why did the zombies cancel their hockey game?

Because there was a face off in the corner.

"A lot of the politically correct elements..."

Which, when one thinks about it, is quite an accurate portrayal of life in liberal land...

TWD is in a class by itself. For us, FTWD is just a filler show until TWD comes back in three weeks...uneven, often slow, but with some good segments.
