A day after the rampage in an Oregon timber town, authorities said Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer, who died during a shootout with police, wore a flak jacket and brought at least six guns and five ammunition magazines to the school. No, it can’t possibly have roots in that. Chris Kluwe has already told us unfettered capitalism is to blame.

Very close to Mercier (French) which is my name. When I first read about this guy I nearly had a heart attack.

What, pray tell is “AA”? Anti American? Alcoholics Anonymous? American Airlines? Genuinely curious, not mocking.

must be why we had no school shootings in 60’s/70’s; we guys carried our books with one arm (girls used both arms).

no concealment. no problem.

Got it. My state did away with Affirmative Action a few years ago and it’s an acronym I haven’t thought of in a while.

He went to the Switzer Center. He had some kind of problem to end up there.

He apparently attended a school for "troubled" teens, so he must have had some behavioral issues.

“You have to be a real looser to flunk out of Army Boot Camp.

Maybe the FBI should track these types?”

Yes!

I would add getting kicked out of any boot camp and be turned down by a recruiter for obvious issues.

My last 3 years in the Naval Reserve, I was a recruiter at my reserve meetings in the Mid 1960’s. You develop skills of interviewing and learn to listen to your gut/instincts that certain people aren’t the ones, who would not want to be shipmates with or near.

Scary ones, wh0

raise some serious flags should be monitored.

Also monitor the losers separated from the military for behavioral problems.

I think he meant “AA” to stand for “African-American”.

AA stands for Anti-Aircraft. Might account for the “flak” jacket.

“It would seem to me that if the NSA and these other government agencies have the technology to detect what is said in a phone conversation or text messages that their algorithms should also detect nut job ramblings online.

They are so worried about some lone wolf terrorist that they overlook these online postings that certainly could lead one to believe the writer has lost it and is contemplating going out with a huge headline.

If the government is going to spy on everyone anyway why don’t they put it to some good?”

NSA has had the capabilities, you describe, since the late l960’s to the late 1970’s.

Google Echelon Project or Project Echelon to find out more.

After that Google Five Eyes or FVEy which involve the UK countries and the US as we can’t legally monitor our people. However, we can monitor the UK people and vice versa.

Then, the Clintoons turned the monitoring away from enemies of America to enemies of the Clintoons and got their famous FBI files of their enemies.

Now, Barrack and his Muslim Brotherhood thugs don’t allow profiling of their buddies nor BI investigations where we would use intel to identify potential terrorists.

Instead, veterans, Christians, Real Jews and other non democrats are monitored if there is any targeting.
