I guess Obama was right about the whole “red line” thing.

In reality the red line are going to be columns of Russian troops.

Russia moving in under the pretense of ridding the region of ISIS is like the Mafia moving to your neighborhood under the pretense of removing a violent street gang, then setting up a permanent base there to do Mob “business”.

Russia will grow wealthier, more powerful, more aggressive in their overall expansionist agenda (Eastern Europe, eventually elsewhere), and much more of a threat to the US and its allies throughout the region and the world.

Sure it’s great IF they actually do get rid of ISIS (we shall see). But having a country like Russia step in and gain such huge strategic advantage over the US and it’s allies is really nothing we should be cheering about.

If Obama was serious about wanting to take out ISIS, which I don’t believe he ever was—I think him and Putin are actually in cahoots on this whole thing despite his and Kerry’s moans and groans about it, it might not ever have come to this, although Russia would likely have come up with some other rationale or excuse for moving into Syria and taking control of it, and ultimately the entire Middle East. Makes me wonder if ISIS wasn’t a KGB-like invention of the Russians.

It is a mistake to assume Obama does not have the guts to stop ISIS. He does not want to stop ISIS. That is why this could be the start of a major crisis. Obama and ISIS vs Putin and ME dictatorships that are not fundie muzzie.

Putin kicked Berry’s pathetic ass and now he’s going to kick Berry’s creation in the ass. It’s like a grown man dealing with a newborn baby.

Keep in mind that Russkie soldiers are generally incompetent (see their performance against Ukraine, which ultimately failed against mostly patriotic and fervent but still just militia backed up by poorly trained conscripts), so 150,000 might be the equivalent of a far smaller western force.

Truth is I just don’t know who to support in this, except the innocents caught up in this mess, but I do hope none of the soldiers sent over get captured by ISIS.

Good news. I don’t care if they annex it as part of Russia. ANYTHING is better than these satanic Mohammedans.

While I don’t agree with everything Putin does and I’d never live under that type of government...

Ummm... are you 100% certain you sorta don't already?? At least in subtle yet similar ways?

So much for taking a couple of decades to kill off the Isis scum as per a battle plan from Obozo’s perfumed princes and princesses in charge of his new military.

Assuming you’re correct, and neither Shiite nor Sunni want ISIS there, what next? Will the rest of them walk to Europe? That would be ironic. Some would claim that economic sanctions are an act of war. Europe did the economic sanction thing against Russia. So now Russia enhances a situation that is sending Musilim fighting-age males into Europe. Checkmate?

“Reservists? Do he is sending in the B or C team.”

He probably figures that’s all he needs right now. Why get any of his best killed off unnecessarily. He will send them in later to occupy Syria and guard against any incursions by the likes of Obama, et.al. Once the “A-Team” has the country solidly in control, Putin can then make his play for Iraq.

Nobody believes Russia will put 150,000 troops in Syria, right?

" Is that incorrect?"

Correct.

And this story is speculative BS.

ISIS well flee back into Iraq where its safe.

200,000 King Obama is bringing to the US. No problem, right? When a few hundred thousand have their head cut off Americans will still be sound asleep.

?what next?

I don’t know... Probably after a period of mild stability, they are at each other’s throats again. Iraq disintegrates into three essentially separate regions... Kurds in the North, Shiites in Baghdad and the Southeast, and Sunnis in the middle and west. Perhaps Iran absorbs the Shiite portion.

I don’t know if that scenario creates tons of refugees or not. IMHO, one reason Syria looked so bad that refugees were accepted was the insanely perverse and murderous activities of ISIS. I don’t believe mild (by comparison) Sunni-Shiite strife produces millions of Euro-acceptable refugees. They may kill each other and cleanse villages, but they don’t do televised beheadings and burnings.
