Targeting Californias recent record-low voter turnout, Gov. Jerry Brown on Saturday signed a measure that would eventually allow Californians to be automatically registered to vote when they go the the DMV to obtain or renew a drivers license.
The measure, which would also allow Californians to opt out of registering, was introduced in response to the dismal 42% turnout in the November 2014 statewide election.

I have my ballot delivered by mail and hand carry it, sealed, to the voting precinct. There is no question which ballot is mine.
Maybe we should give it back?
The Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo signed in 1848 ended the Mexican War and it gave the United States the Rio Grande River as a boundary for Texas, and it also gave the US ownership of California and a large area comprising roughly half of New Mexico, most of Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado. Mexicans in those annexed areas had the choice of relocating to within Mexico’s new boundaries or receiving American citizenship with full civil rights. Over 90% chose to become US citizens.
The region shall simply be TAKEN!
La Raza must be positively giddy.
They took it from the Aztecs then we took it from them, and now they’re taking it back.
Good for you, you don't like it here stay the hell out!
BTW, I'm a native So. Cal escapee from a once beautiful state of neo mehico aka mehifornia, shove your lame BS.
I like that idea. Make voting even more of a sham than it already is.
This is a good news story. Almost 60% stayed home from sham elections. That’s certainly an improvement.
Still, 42% of people voting is way, WAY too high!

Finding it hard to stay classy Ron? When we were married in LV 49 years ago it was a different place, now it just like SoCal, except it’s hotter! Come to think of it, most of SoCal is there every weekend. But not to worry, our extended family there is making millions off of it so I can’t be too bitter about the sorry state of affairs there.
Go back and re read your first post to me, then explain the “staying classy” part.
I went with her, and the place was jammed with Mexicans....and each an every piece of paper had a "motor voter" registration attached.
Every last effin one of them!

I was merely expressing my personal views ( and those of my wife who was raised there). Sorry, but class isn’t involved in expressing a personal opinion about how Las Vegas has devolved into what it now is. If you like living there, knock yourself out. But the simple fact is that it is not now what it was when we were young. And unless you don’t move about the city, you know that traffic (and all the torn up streets) are true. It used to be that there was open space between Las Vegas and Henderson, now there’s only a sign delineating the change. My wife grew up out at the end of Charleston (way out west). Now the city in on the verge of Red Rock Canyon, five times as far as my wife’s family home!
No place is still as it was when we were young. I lived in so cal for 40 years and have been here for the last 15.
I’ve also been coming to Vegas since the mid 70’s....yes, everything changes.
Fact is, you live in a glass house and shouldn’t be throwing stones.
At least Nevada allows you to purchase a weapon, walk out of the store with it the same day, unregistered....and gasp, you can even load it and strap it to your hip with out big daddy’s approval.....try that in your little piece of paradise you live in.

And you can have Metro cut you down out in front of Target there too. So I take it that it’s guns that have you taking leave? I don’t like the current gun laws here either, but they may well be changing. The Federal Judge in Fresno struck down the 10 day waiting period, so that will change in the not to distant future. Plus the 9th Circuit did attempt to stop the nonsense that goes on in metropolitan counties with respect to CCW but we still have to await the en banc to see if it stands. BTW I wouldn’t get caught carrying in North Las Vegas, because it’s a felony there currently ( I have a close relative who is a former NLVPD officer). So you have work to do too.
Ummm, that was a Costco, and do you really want to talk about the Dornan case a couple of years ago??
Seriously, like I said, those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Yeah, three years ago, and you still have the waiting period....so what?
And if you have any faith in the 9th circus, well, maybe Folsom street parade will be shut down too.

Ummm, no, you need to get caught up a little:
