Few House hearings are must-see TV. But on Thursday, Hillary Clinton will testify ahead of the House Select Committee on Benghazi in one of the most-anticipated hearings of the year—but maybe not for the reasons originally predicted.
The hearing was never supposed to be easy for Clinton, whose campaign has been hampered by inquiries into her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. But the threat the committee once posed to her political fortunes has dissipated, as it has instead become a political challenge for House Republicans, as they try to prove that the focus of the committee is on the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya and not a political ploy.

I’m so sick and tired of these namby pamby RINOS not even trying to put up a fight. They won’t even use the same tactics as the DEM’s.
Tip O’Neal once claimed that the the lack of any real evidence is itself reason to open some investigation into some perceived Reagan mis-doing.
I know there is the media supplied double standard but give me a break. Stand up and fight. I bet dollars to donuts that there will be no questions regarding the private server, private emails, possible corporate fraud/bribery using her SOS position and the Foundation.
All of this should be fair game and since she will be sworn in and if she doesn’t take the 5th right out of the box then ask some of those type questions. She’ll only have 2 answers, Yes that she did it or no she didn’t do it (lie) and trap the witch on the record.
We know the Dems on the committee will try to derail and distract, and draw the other side into monologueing and sniping.
The question is: can the Republicans make the questioning succeed? - avoid the bait and only ask Questions That Hillary Must Answer.
And: do they want it to succeed?

I knew it years ago. The more Hillary hid from Gowdy, the slower Gowdy went after her. He has failed in every committee he has chaired or participated in. He has no intention of “getting” anybody.

Just heard on Hannity that Gowdy has lost his voice, just in time for tomorrow. Simply amazing.
She will get away with it as she always does.
It will be a rerun of the Army-McCarthy hearings with Hillary sitting there saying that they have no shame for going after her for politics. That she complied with the law on safeguarding the classified documents and offer a weak apology. The press will then announce that the issue is settled and breathlessly report how she will be the first woman nominee now that Biden has been eliminated.
McCarthy didn’t put his foot in his mouth. He was doing the will of his masters.

If the GOP has thought this out and Gowdy has a game plan his fellow Republicans will follow, it will hurt Hillary.
