Exclusive– GOP Campaigns Agree to Cut RNC Out of Debate Process, Negotiate Directly with Networks

The 2016 GOP presidential campaigns agreed on Sunday evening to cut the Republican National Committee (RNC) out of the debate negotiation process and instead deal directly with networks moderating debates, Breitbart News has learned.

Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager for frontrunner Donald Trump, confirmed to Breitbart News via phone on Sunday that the “biggest consensus” of five separate points the GOP campaigns agreed on was cutting the RNC out of the negotiations with the networks, as the campaigns would each like to negotiate with the networks directly.

In response to the revelation that the RNC will be cut out of the process, RNC chief spokesman Sean Spicer—the party’s point man on handling debates until now—said the RNC stands ready to help the candidates in any way they can.

I think this is a lot of fury and BS that will end up as nothing.

I’ll believe the candidates (or RNC) truly reformed things the first time I see Levin or Rush as a panelist for one of these.

“Is there a GOP candidate who has exceptional negotiating skills???”

I see a pattern- get the debate cut to 2 hours, now cut the RNC out of it.....

This is an example of taking on what was viewed as set un stone, winning, and changing how things are done.

And this is only about primary debates - imagine what can be done on a national scale. It looks like Mexico just might pay for that wall and China might give us some jobs back..

Yes, a lot of people have forgotten, or never knew, that 1968 was the summer that the Dems as a party made a hard left turn.

You have to read it right, the part about Trump was in a fragment, not related to the main sentence.

“Trump the leader on this?

I think not”

First if all, in the list of candidates’ reps meeting Sunday night, Cruz was absent.

2nd - who was the one that started taking on the media, completely alone?

It’s only after 2 other debates in which Trump didn’t stand down to the corrupt questions, boycotted Fox because of their treatment of him, tweeted about the dishonesty of the media, and pointed out how biased journalists are in his rallies that the other candidates jumped in. Yes, Cruz was brilliant in his accurate rant. But Rubio and Christie did their part as well.

I don’t think any of them would’ve gone out on a limb alone if Trump hadn’t started the discussion long before this debate.

“I had a guy arguing with me today that said Trump wants to deport illegals but then wants to “expedite” them back by granting them amnesty by executive order.”

Must be the same one haranguing me about that. Seems that’s the new anti-Trump talking point. Pretty weak when no other candidate is talking deportation. He was for Cruz, who has been strangely silent on what to do with all the illegals. For all he knows, Cruz will amnesty them - and the possibility of that is better than Trump’s black and white policy?

Hmmm. Does this mean that someone who is very, very good at negotiating can get things done, you know, like where others can’t??

Hmmm, who knew??

“You could almost see the wheels turning in his head as the debate progressed. People wondered why he was more subdued than in past debates. I think he was preoccupied — forming a plan as he stood there.”

I hadn’t thought of that possibility.

I thought he was like a proud papa- or a great leader - watching the effect of his influence. He fought back alone against the media in the first 2 debates, then in twitter and in rallies, and with calling the 1st question of this debate a poor one. Finally the others snapped and followed his lead!
