During my commute this morning, one of Bill's loyal listeners called in to offer a mild rebuke. The caller obviously was a fan of Bill, owing to the gentleness of the rebuke, primarily over McConnell's failures as Majority Leader.

Bill then actually admitted, on the air, that he's been "disappointed" with McConnell.

IMO, Bill Bennett saying he's "disappointed" is thunderous. He's been loyal to the GOPe as one can be, if only because he's been inside the Beltway all of his life. He's known these career politicians for decades, and worked with him as he's passed through the revolving door of politics and crony capitalism known as Washington DC.

He pays lip service to his listeners outside the Beltway, saying "he gets it", while we fully know he doesn't "get it."

Years and years ago I used to listen to “Go Along - Get Along” Bill. His coffee klatching morning schtick grew very old, very quickly.

What does he care? He makes good bucks on radio with the same old same old of the elite Republican establishment.

I listen to him only because commercials are running on the three sports talk stations, my commute is 30 minutes.

Afternoons, I'll listen a bit to Savage, in addition to said sports talk. On occasion, I listen to music on the Iphone. Absolutely no Hannity!

Bill Bennett is an East Coast version of Michael Medved: strong on cultural and moral issues, but at best semi-conservative on policy matters and generally pro-GOPe on political issues. Both men seem to regard themselves as a cut above Limbaugh, Hannity, etc., due to their educational background.
