Take that to the bank. Several solid home runs last night.

Cruz won the night, followed closely by Rubio and Fiorina.

The rest can all go home and take a nap.

Especially that old fogey Kasich.

Its getting comical, listening to the chattering classes spinning furiously trying to influence in the immediate aftermath of these debates, only to be completely contradicted the next day by the masses.

They have definitely lost whatever influence they may once have had.

Stay the course. The arrogant charlatan’s peripheral support will start peeling off layer by layer, followed by the core. Due hards will stay. It will take several weeks. Though I liked his point on Iraqi oil to recompense wounded warriors and families— he was good and sincere on that one. Yeb! just choked, it was embarrassing.

Fancy that!!! They chose the one most likely to be able to articulate to youth the reasons why our written Constitution, protecting citizens from runaway government power, is as revolutionary today as it was in 1787.

"Ideas have consequences."- Weaver

The only path to making America "great again" begins and ends with understanding of, and strict adherence to, the ideas and principles underlying the Constitution of the United States of America, as they were explained in the 85 essays of THE FEDERALIST, newspaper essays addressed directly to "the People" prior to ratification of that Constitution by the people in the states.
-------------------------

"On every question of construction, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."

— Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322.

"Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction." Thomas Jefferson to W, Nicholas, 1803.

In his own 1801 Inaugural Address, after listing what he called the "essential principles" to guide his Administration, Jefferson added:

"These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety." - Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural, 1801

We might contrast Jefferson's understanding with the current Administration/Clinton's proudly-proclaimed "progressive", extra-constitutional policies which, in effect, undo all the monumental work accomplished by the Founders on behalf of liberty and leave the law afloat and without anchor, relying, as of old, on mere men and women.

Fiorina was annoying and condescending sounding as usual, and her record sucks just like Rubio’s. Fiorina should get off the stage in the next debate and Rubio I hope will be exposed for the phony he is by Cruz.

"Trump winning on Drudge."

Yeah, at ten p.m.---halfway through the debate---I saw people posting a link to Drudge that Trump had already won. Pretty sure it was a case of spamming, Ron Paul style.

Cruz was the star of the show. He was doing so well, that they put him in the cone of silence for almost an hour it seemed.

Who, pray tell, is the "arrogant charlatan"?

Whoever you are referring to, we need his supporters. So be nice!

I’m so happy to have Freepers watching these debates, and telling us about them.

I’ve had one heart attack, and don’t need to try for #2. LOL!

"Trump winning on Drudge."

If Drudge "polls" meant anything John McCain and Mitt Romney would both have easily trounced Obama in the general elections.

Maybe you think Carly should be strangled, too, like Shrillary, who cackled at the suggestion made by some bozo in her audience?

Please take it down a notch.

We all have our favorites.

Neither the GOPe nor the demoncraps want to see Cruz at the top of the ticket.

He would be a disastrous slam-dunk on Hillary and the GOPe does't want him messing with their plans.

Ya really can't say that about any of the other candidates.

What we really need is a repeat of 1980 - landslide victory and some real pi$$ed off progressives from both parties.
