Russian President Vladimir Putin appealed to Western leaders to bury their differences with Russia and jointly strike at the "barbarian" Islamic State (ISIS) militants in Syria, saying Friday's Paris terrorist attack underscored the need for such concerted action.

In a condolences telegram sent to French President Francois Hollande, Putin said, "This tragedy is another proof of the barbarian nature of terrorism, which challenges the human civilisation. Clearly, for effective fighting this evil, the entire international community should unite efforts," Tass news agency reported.

"I would like to confirm the Russian side is ready for most close cooperation with the French counterparts in investigating into the crime in Paris. I hope the initiators and executors will receive deserved punishments," Putin added.

Sergei Sobyanin, a close Putin ally and the mayor of Moscow, said the killings in Paris were "another reason to consolidate in the battle against Islamic State." Alexey Pushkov, a senior lawmaker and the chairman of the foreign affairs committee in the lower house of parliament, said he hoped the incident would bring the West to its senses. "Russia is fighting in Syria against those who blew up Paris and declared war on Europe," he wrote on his official Twitter account. "It is time for the West to stop criticising Moscow and to form a joint coalition."

Also interesting, (since G20 Group photo positioning of leaders always is intended to make a statement)...that Merkle and Cameran are in the 'second row'...Obama next to Erdogan...and they put from left, China’s President Xi Jinping, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff, and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.....

So you have Erdogan (Host) determining who he wants to be seen as rubbing shoulders.... Currently Erdogan is still mad at Putin for telling him off about his supporting ISIS in Syria.

The Corker Bill was about lifting sanctions so business can be done with Iran. Obama and the GOP are both committed to trading with and containing Iran like was done with the USSR during the “Cold War”.

Support for the Saudis and Gulf Arabs fighting the Iranian backed tribe in Yemen and ‘opposition’ in Syria is proof of what the real Uniparty policy in Washington is. Containment of Iran and trading with Iran. The former is the stick and the latter the carrot.

"I suspect Obama has INTENTIONALLY been weak on ISIS in order that his Russian comrades..."

Putin and Obama despise each other, and that's not an act. Obama has no "Russian comrades."

Obama is a fascist; Putin is a Czarist...while you run around babbling about "Communists."

It's no wonder that you are both confused and a predictable, continuous laughingstock on every geopolitical thread!

"Obama has INTENTIONALLY been weak on ISIS"

Hey kid...Obama funded, aided, and protected ISIS.

WTF do you think that entire 2011 war in Libya was about?!

WTF do you think McGoon's, Yeb's, and Hillary's idiotic "No Fly Zone" over Syria was all about?!

I'll let you in on a little secret, and then when you read it you can start your usual conspiracy rants:

Our CIA created ISIS (e.g. Jihadi John is a Western agent) as part of their idiotic "Arab Spring" plan to overthrow all dictators in the entire Middle-East in order to "bring democracy to the people."

Benghazi was about the USA switching sides in the War On Terror.

Backing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt was about switching sides in the War On Terror.

Overthrowing our own pro-American President in Yemen was about...you guessed it (or not, you might be stubborn)...switching sides in the War On Terror.

Ditto for the CIA's massive failure in their efforts to overthrow Assad in Syria (who hoo, a global refugee crisis!).

Langley and the DC Beltway are populated, currently, by gender-sensitive, "global warming" nutcases who think that it is "smart" to send gay Ambassadors to countries who have the death penalty for being gay.

Every policy that they back is doomed to failure.

Their "Arab Spring" is simply one of their larger failures.

The longstanding refusal of the US to join Russia in the destruction of terrorists is baffling to me.

Just because they are Russians does not mean they cannot kill Jihadis effectively.

I AM NOT a big fan of Putin. When it comes to this situation with ISIS, he's probably right.

I recognize that when we back the rebels in Syria, is did make some sense. I never backed it and thought we were stupid to do so, so don't get the wrong idea. Read on.

Whatever possibility of good intentions there was behind the rebel effort, I think it's a Muslim Brotherhood or al Qaeda effort now. I'm not convinced it isn't actually an ISIS effort either at this point.

I don't know all the players, so I could be wrong, but my take is that the terrorist foot on the ground moves back and forth from rebel, to al Qaeda, to Muslim Brotherhood, and to ISIS.

It's probably time to admit that and go after ISIS tooth and nail in every venue.

Trump has it exactly right when he says ISIS is using the internet effectively. We need to take down internet access to areas with ISIS problems.

It's time to get serious, and Trump is the most serious I've heard so far.

He's not sold on Puting, but he also says we probably have to work together with him here. "Whoever wants to take out ISIS, I say let them." I can't argue with that.

Sorry rebels, you had your chance. It's over. Stop your combatant role and accept defeat. If you need to, move out of the area for your safety. Any hostility at this point will be seen as ISIS.

At one point Syria seemed to be leaning toward power sharing and a peaceful end to their conflict. I can't say as that doesn't sound like a very good thing to take advantage of at this point.

After the events in Paris on 11/13, I will be adding this
to my posts for the next week. I'm certain our turn is
coming again soon. We stand united against Islamic
extremists, oxymoron or not.

I thought pretty much that as well....he simply has so little power on the world stage.....the fact Erdogan gave him ‘place’ next to him, which in prior ones Obama was off center considerably at the g20 group photos ....speaks volumes .....

Leaders listen to him...but they cannot “count” on him.

"IS(IS/IL) will prove to be a mere sock puppet distraction once Iran gets its nukes."

Exactly.

ISIS is just a stepping stone to the Muslim intent to dominate the world.

There Will Be No Peace Until There Is No Islam.

“The Russians are NEVER to be trusted”

We need to collaborate with the Russians again, just like we needed them to defeat Hitler. But yes, we need to remember in the aftermath who they are - and give them nothing.

he official told reporters after the leaders met on the sidelines of a G20 summit ...>>>>>>>>> Thank you for the timely ping. But anything that Obama agrees to will be highly suspect IF it does not lead directly to the complete destruction of ISIS.

Obama is huddling for one thing: To protect the Saudi's interest by keeping ISIS from destruction, assuring ISIS continuity on behalf of the Saudis in their Sunni war against the Iranian Shiites who are directly threatening to take Mecca, after all they are in Iraq, not too much further to push in order to take Mecca.

The Saudis are scared to death of Iran-Russia and have Obama hopping , doing the step and fetch for them. Whatever Obama does will NOT be for America or Europe, it will be for the Saudis.

The question is whether other G20 leaders know what Obama is up to. Certainly Putin knows what Obama is up to, Obama is protecting the Saudis, and Putin will trade the destruction of ISIS and protection for the rest of Europe from refugees, if Putin is handed the Ukraine. Its that simple.

The partition of the Ukraine is about to happen. If only Obama would act like a genuine US president(Buahahahahahahahaha!) and destroy the Saudi proxy, ISIS, Putin would lose his leverage. But no, Obama will fail again to act like a genuine US president.

History is now being made and Vlad has virtually everyone by the short hairs and has powned Obama from the beginning.

The TRUTH bears repeating and I add in my two cents:

“Hey kid...Obama funded, aided, and protected ISIS.

***************************

And these failures have resulted in Obama having to act to protect the Saudis and their proxy ISIS.Thats why Obama has been doing the rope a dope , dancing around ISIS instead of attacking ISIS effectively.

At G20 Obama is huddling with Pooty.Pooty has leverage. Pooty can and will destroy ISIS but there will be a cost.Obama’s job will be to not allow Europe to pay that price of abandoning Ukraine to Russia and prevent ISIS destruction by doing so.

Obama is huddling for one thing: To protect the Saudi’s interest by keeping ISIS from destruction, assuring ISIS continuity on behalf of the Saudis in their Sunni war against the Iranian Shiites who are directly threatening to take Mecca, after all they are in Iraq, not too much further to push in order to take Mecca.

Obama is given common courtesy but cannot be depended on as leaders know he’s undependable and will not make decisions without numerous “talks” ....but Putin still wants to be recognized in the EU community once more and he will compromise if possible to achieve that. He has said all along that International leaders have to work together on Syria....unlike Obama who time and again refused to meet with Assad or Russia. He’s such an idiot.

Putin did say before the summit that he was obligated to assist Assad ‘BUT’ that the International Community also would be considered since the Paris attacks. Basically crossing that bridge as it comes.

Syria is key for all the Jihadists and Islamic fighters there....they operate and are motivated by their ‘prophetic’ Islamic teachings which center on Syria.

Ukraine is another story as I see it....Putin already has Crimea which was significant to him ....Donbass etc. is so destroyed the most it would be is a buffer zone for Russia from Kiev and the Nato push. I cannot see Ukraine actually fully a member of the EU any time soon if ever. Their internal problems have not changed sufficient enough to keep them on track....corruption still is rampant...and the old diehard oligarchs are still at it there.
