Trump must apologize to Muslim Americans, Jersey City | Editorial
Jersey Journal Editorial ^ | November 23, 2015

Donald Trump must apologize to Muslim Americans and to Jersey City for his untrue, divisive and reprehensible comments perpetuating an old rumor we thought had rightly died.

By repeating – and indeed embellishing – this hateful rumor, Trump once again ratchets up the ugliness in the current political climate.

Thousands and thousands of people in Jersey City did not cheer the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Period. End of story. There is no need to continue to "fact check'' his words.

The truth is that Trump's statements are factually, ethically and morally wrong. Those of us who were really there that day and in the days that followed know that Jersey City suffered tremendous loss, mourned and stepped up to help.

I’ll admit I don’t like him as a candidate, for the same reason I don’t like Carson; they’re both proven liars, and they’re not real conservatives.

But I didn’t force Trump to lie about what he saw. I didn’t force Trump to double down on those lies when challenged. That was all him, and the facts aren’t in question any more.

If Donald can’t handle the press without getting flustered, why should we think he’ll be able to handle the job he claims he wants? I know he talks tough, and there’s a certain appeal in that, but America needs much more than a talker. We need a proven conservative with a track record, and Trump just ain’t it.

This attack on Trump is an effort to help Jersey City mayor Stevie Fulup who the Democrats want to be their next governor in New Jersey. Fulup is a Marine who has lost his way.

Were you living in NYC on 9/11?

Did you watch T.V. that day?

Did you read the N.Y. Post that day?

If you can answer "YES" to all of those questions, than either YOU are the liar or have a lousy memory !

He didn't lie, he told the truth ( though I'm not sure that there were "thousands" in Jersey, celebrating...there were a LOT of them ), which many of us remember seeing and/or reading about.

And Trump handles the MSM far BETTER than anyone else has, in decades!

Yes, yes, and yes.

And there were not “thousands and thousands” cheering in Jersey City.

If there had been, Trump wouldn’t have to be claiming now that there’s a massive conspiracy to remove all the webpages, all the video footage, all the reports that have magically been scrubbed from the entire Internet so there’s no evidence of his ludicrous claims.

It was a stupid lie, but he could have backed out of it at the start. Even Ben Carson had the smarts to do that, which is saying something. But no, Donald is piling lies on top of lies because he’s too insecure to admit the finest fault.

You know that’s the woman Jim Robinson has banned for lying about Sarah Palin and others, right?

Funny that she makes all these claims she can’t back up, about MTV reports that the network said didn’t happen.

Seems like there’s a good reason JR has made her persona non grata around these parts.

Carson is a moron.

Lots of pictures from that day have been scrubbed.

Your TDS is eating through your brain; didums.

Thanks. I hadn’t made that connection.

Getting back to the issue at hand, there was a huge perception by the general public that there were tons of muslims celebrating after or on 9/11.

This perception came FROM the media.

The problem they have at this point is that for them to admit the truth, they would have to admit they fostered a lie (the lie being 1000’s in NJ or New York, while actually showing crowds in Gaza).

I’ve asked the mods to remove that post, based on your advice.

Exactly. I will never forget.

And some of us DID see celebrations here in NJ. I won’t forget that either.

Remember the “moratorium” on the live news of the Towers imploding, etc. because “people” thought it was too traumatizing to the American People? It would make people angry once their sadness and grief subsided. Let’s not focus on that, it’s too traumatizing, too sad, etc. We should have kept showing it and kept talking about it to keep it fresh in the memory of the people.

You bet that I too remember that; treating us as though we were all "little snowflakes", as the stupid college millennials are now.

So of course, sooooooo many stupids have now completely forgotten all about 9/11 and how they felt that day, as though it never happened. :-(

Not that I want it to happen, but an ISIS attack, akin to the Paris one, might finally wake the dormant, almost nonexistent brain cells of the stupids up, again.
