Prof Claiming No Terror Link to Bernardino 'Workplace Violent Act' Gets Debunked in Seconds

It was a priceless TV moment. Here was law professor Sahar Aziz on Jose Diaz-Balart's MSNBC complaining about anti-Muslim bias in the US and insisting we don't know the motive behind the San Bernardino massacre. Aziz called the San Bernardino attack a "workplace violent act," pointing to the lack of any claim of responsibility or link to a terrorist group.

But literally seconds after Aziz signed off—without so much as a commercial break—NBC's Pete Williams came on to announce that just before the attack, the wife in the terrorist couple, Tashfeen Malik, "posted a statement of support for the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on a Facebook page." Williams added that such expressions of support for ISIS and for ISIS leaders, "does seem to follow a pattern that has been used in other ISIS-inspired attacks." It's okay, Professor Aziz: retroactive correction accepted!

The potential workplace violence angle was debunked once it was disclosed the attackers used pipe bombs. Regardless of the motivation of the attackers, those clearly indicate planning. This professor was clinging to straws in an effort to keep her agenda afloat. The fact that these attackers are Islamic, just shows they are the flavor of the month.

Workplace violence are more likely crimes of passion. Going into your current or previous place of employment and wreaking vengeance on those who you perceive as doing you wrong. There may be some planning, but IIRC generally not much.

A terrorist attack, even a small one, requires extensive planning to be effective. The attackers had to procure equipment, vehicles, estimate police response, etc... The fact that it was also a workplace is either a coincidence, or more likely, a bonus. This strike, as well as those in Paris were calculated to cause fear and inspire other DAESH/ISIL supports (hence the go-pro cameras)

Even Columbine, which is generally viewed as a mass shooting akin to workplace violence, had, in a sense, some of the the characteristics of a terror attack. If you view the two students as a very small, independent, anarchist cell.

In other words: “my parents dragged me to this wretched place, so I am going to do my level best to f-— it up, and get paid to do it.”
