Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump made the shortlist for TIME magazine's 2015 Person of the Year for his "populist rhetoric" in the 2016 presidential election that has "stirred debate about the party's future."
The magazine released its shortlist Monday morning with Trump making the cut among other finalists including Black Lives Matter activists, Russian president Vladimir Putin and Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).Â

You are misinformed. Cruz has been ahead of Trump in action as well as words often. When it came to defending Christian freedom. When it came to Syrian refugees, and Cruz's long stance on immigration (if you would only take the cotton out of your ears) is the conservative, right one -- enforce the laws that exist, which means deporting illegal aliens who are apprehended. PERIOD. He's held that stance for a very long time. Only eight years ago, your guy had effusive praise for Hillary and Bill Clinton!

I thought he couldn't be bought? What leads you to conclude that he is limited-government conservative, anti-statist, pro-Constitution conservative?
Pretty much everything I see about the guy (as opposed to all the "terrific" "make your head spin" words he has for things like Obamacare and the military) indicates a left-leaning moderate who likes government done his way.

Obamacare. Stopping the refugees (well, Rand Paul tried). I think there were others. Can’t remember right now. I know I thought “So now they do it!” a few times. Aren’t they trying the defunding of Planned Parenthood once more time? Isn’t there someone going after the H-1B visas?
I’ve been busy with work till this morning but now have nothing to do except go to Christmas parties and follow the news and watch Trump speeches, so I’ll let you know if I think of any others.

Even though Trump and Cruz think differently, Trump wants you to think they don't. He's said so. "Ted Cruz is now agreeing with me 100 percent," he says when asked about a VP pick.

All the more reason to have a cool-headed Constitutional limited government conservative at the helm instead of a sincerely patriotic but hot-headed self-blown celebrity "billionaire genius."
