Ted Cruz: I would NOT support a ban on all Muslims coming to America
The Right Scoop ^ | Dec 10, 2015 | The Right Scoop

Posted on 12/10/2015 6:20:06 PM PST by M. Thatcher

Just as Ted Cruz doesn't support indiscriminately shutting down mosques inside the United States, he also said he won't support a ban on all Muslims coming to America:

Cruz makes clear to the Daily Signal that he believes we should focus on countries that have problems with radical Islamic terrorism.

He also weighed in on the the ceasing of the NSA's bulk collection of metadata, pointing out that we had metadata and still weren't able to stop this San Bernardino terrorist attack or the Tsarnaev brothers in Boston or Nidal Hassan.

Nope, not me. I was just confused by your incoherent post and was asking for a clarification.

I shan't be upset......Trump IS going to be the nominee and I know that you hate him. Pity that.....for you.

How are you going to verify a Muslim is a Muslim?

Impossible

By asking what Christian church they attended and then verifying with the pastor an other congregants.

We have problems getting immigrant passports these days let alone verifying the Church they attend.

Bottom line... there is no real way to verify if a person is a Muslim. I'm sure both Trump and Cruz know that. I think Trump's proposal would be legal, I just don't see how it could be possible unless we could get into their minds (a mind reading machine).

Even if we adopted Cruz' idea (which is a good one) it does not go far enough. European immigrants are considered European and can legally travel to the US documented as European - Muslims living in Europe are at least as dangerous as those living in the Middle East.

We would have to stop ALL immigration period and we'd still have to deal with those Muslims already here in the US. And that's not something permanent that's going to happen.

The very least we could do is adopt Cruz' plan but also require VISAS for anybody wanting to travel to the US including those from European nations.

“That is not compatible with them swearing an oath to this nation.”

So all of them who are here and have become citizens have lied on their applications and should be subject to deportation. Works for me. We will not have peace until they are all gone from our shores.

Give them a Pork sandwich and a beer while you parade nude women in front of them!

“Personally, I support Cruz/Rand Pauls efforts and plans over Trumps, but I think we need a full on ban on all immigration for 10 years at the minimum just to get our house in order.”

Well Trump is right there with sealing the border with Mexico, because that’s where we’re not only getting cheap gardners, but also ISIS killers. But I also think that a complete moratorium on immigration for at least 5 years, coupled with a drastic reduction (if not elimination) of student visas is mandatory. And those we do allow here for school, have to report in semi-annually with objective evidence that they are actually attending classes and getting report cards. Somehow all the elietes think that we shouldn’t do anything that disrupts their income streams even if some of us have to die so they can maintain their standard of living.

What about France and Belgium? Does Ted include them on his list?

How can someone so smart be so dumb?

Someone read this out loud to Rafael, so that he can record it in his "audiographic memory."

On May 17, Mohamed Atta applied for a United States visa, receiving a five-year B-1/B-2 (tourist/business) visa the next day from the United States embassy in Berlin.

Because Atta had lived in Germany for approximately five years, along with his "strong record as a student", he was treated favorably and not scrutinized.[56]

-— But it wouldn’t have picked up the Tsarnaev brothers or most of the Paris attackers. -—

True.

I don’t have a problem with banning Mohammadan immigration. But it may not pick up most terrorists. It would probably work best if entrants had to offer proof of their Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism or Hinduism, and a history of their citizenship.

GREAT point. Thanks.

“That’s why a ban on immigration from countries that support “radical Islam,” or even better, Islamic countries, makes sense and is more enforceable.”

Which countries are those?

Any country with a Muslim population greater than 25%? Mideast. Pakistan. Bangladesh. Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, north Africa, etc.

“Cruz stood up to the GOPe repeatedly, long before Trump made it cool.”

Yes Cruz has, but the point now is that Trump did make it cool. If Trump wasn’t in the race, Cruz would be doing as well as Tancredo and Hunter did years ago. They were rock solid conservatives and couldn’t get a mention.

Trump not only made it cool, he took all the hits for illegal immigration and now for protecting us from terrorists. Therefore he gets all the credit as well. His positions on those are much more conservative than Cruz’s.

What bothers me is that I don’t see this friction between the two cultures getting better. Sooner or later is melts down. When it does, how many people here are going to suddenly feel compelled to fight on the side of Islam against U. S. Citizens?

It’s a real problem, and I tend to lean in your direction on this.

I support Trump AND Cruz and believe EITHER would do a BRILLIANT job as President. I have no doubts either candidate would surround themselves with patriots seeking to “turn this ship around”!
