You like to accuse others of lying. I am still waiting on my apology. Man up and admit that you engaged in a personal attack.

Not Yuge enough. Too boring of language. Needs more over-the-top emotion. Exclamation points and words in all caps are import to communicating a political point. Actual legislation just won’t do the trick.

Funny that Mitt Romney could change positions like underwear and that didn’t stop the Cruz haters from voting for him ‘no matter what.’

If it wasn’t for double standards, CANCERvatives would have none at all.

I read the article, think Laura Ingraham, she asked him about the abuses at Diseney and he said he could not comment because he did not know about them.
But the greatest flip flopper and whiny baby in American political history can go off half cocked on all kinds of stuff and they cannot even see it. And those who disagree with trump/and or trumpee will call the rest of nasty names -— just like their guy Trump does. I laugh and cry. They even pretended Trump did not make fun of that journalist.
And they see nothing wrong with Trump playing Bambi with EOs.

Outstanding news!

I'm so glad that Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Jeff Sessions collaborated together on this legislation. Senator Sessions is the 'gold standard' for issues of immigration and pro-American jobs in the U.S. Senate. The statement from Sessions at the end of the article is political gold for the Cruz campaign and a slam on Rubio that he richly deserves.

increase high-skilled "H1B" visas

Perhaps you don't understand what adjectives are... one can be for more high-skilled visas while also for an overall reduction of ALL visas.

I'm all for more world-class desserts in my diet, while also being for fewer snacks in my diet overall.

Well no one is going to be impressed with yet another bill that will get no votes.

So what are we getting excited about?

It almost seems like Cruz is only offering this stuff up now just to run and say “see! I did something”.

Hmm: candidate with a proven record of fighting for the Republic vs a candidate with a record of fighting for himself. Whoever shall I choose?

Ted Cruz doing more to please the union guys than Hillary will likely EVER do.

In contrast to all the pundits who donate nothing but words and think their comments should be taken seriously...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

If Sessions is involved, this is a good thing. He has always stood fast on the side of America’s workers.

First, it requires companies that use H-1B workers to pay such visa holders either what an American worker who did identical or similar work made two years prior to the recruiting effort, or $110,000, whichever is higher.

Un enforceable. What are the "punishments"? This is just lip service, kill the dang thing! Lower the quotas to 0!

While I'm glad to see Cruz finally walking back his support of H1B visas with the assistance of Jeff Sessions, there are few points that I think are crucial that I see missing.

There should be English language requirements at a minimum of a 4/4 (spoken/comprehension) level. What is the point of having a high tech individual, even if he does know his field, but who is unable either to communicate at that technical level or comprehend at that technical level? English testing should be given by and controlled by an independent American language company and not by foreign firms.

Likewise, any claimed level of achievement in the technical field should also be tested by an independent organization of American origin and not of foreign origin.

Finally, there should be a continual audit and not ONLY a moratorium during which there is an audit. Following that moratorium, the audit should be an annual requirement.

Blah blah blah. The only thing that would work would be to end the H1B visas entirely. Any law written to tweak it will simply be avoided. The private sector is a lot smarter than these pols and will just find ways to bring in cheap labor anyhow.

If he was in Florida, did he mention Disney abusing the current system?

Did he say what would happen if they did it under his new proposals?

If not, then he’s just pandering and nothing will really change.

“Hmm: candidate with a proven record of fighting for the Republic vs a candidate with a record of fighting for himself. Whoever shall I choose?”

This Frickin canned answer again?

Introducing bills in a chamber where you KNOW THEY WILL GET DEFEATED is not “fighting for the Republic” anymore than playing the lotto is “building wealth”.

Yeah, you guys are super impressed with this, which we all called “Kabuki theater” until Cruz started doing it.

But you know what? It’s all for show. It’s for you can run around screaming that “OMG CRUZ IS THE WARRIORZ” when it is nothing but show bills.

Want to impress me? Then lead a real filibuster on this and stop the congress dead to get this passed. How about get more than 2 co-sponsors?

Just engaging in this dog and pony senate floor show is a waste of time.

“Proven record”. Of what? Defeated bills? That’s a proven record?

It’s about time we started dealing with issues that matter to the American people.

Of course if Democrats stay in power they’ll let the laws go on the books - then refuse to enforce them.

That’s what they did with border control... big ass fight about the laws - then NONE OF THE LAWS ON THE BOOKS WERE ENFORCED.

The bill may not pass, but at the very least, it puts on record who really represents the American people and who is just in the job for the perks and bennies.

This Congress will continue to bow to King Obama and kiss his ring. Nothing we can do about it now. But once we elect a strong conservative for President, we can set about replacing the cheating, lying, traitorous scum in both houses of congress. And maybe throw out a few SCOTUS justices too.

There is no FIX for H1B... the program needs eliminated, period. Its filled with nothing but fraud and abuse since its inception, thinking it can be fixed is like thinking Obamacare can be.
