Second, the bill requires that within 730 days¢â‚¬â€two years ..of “an employee strike, an employer lockout, layoffs, furloughs, or other types of involuntary employee terminations other than for cause dismissals,” a company cannot bring aboard any H1B labor. That means it wouldn't be able to replace Americans with foreigners. The bill also has more transparency requirements throughout.

There is a problem with that statement. Disney didn't hire any H1-B visa holders. It hired a firm that had H1-B visa holders, who would do the job of the US workers.

This is a bad bill.

We have given many hundreds of dollars to Cruz just this year, interestingly enough.

Disney didn't sponsor any H1-B visas, but it certainly did bring aboard H1-B visa holders.

“Will this stop all the whining from the anti-Cruz crowd?”

FLIP FLOPPER!!!

Kidding.

The bill sounds good so far, and anything sure to work, is unfortunately doomed. Cruz has a history of championing efforts that do not have a chance. Some say it’s tactical trickery to appear on the right side.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.

I did not say he did not change his mind long ago and more recently but he is condemned for doing so and Cruz is given a pass. I did not give an opinion on what I thought of the idea changes just the double standard. You have no idea who I am or what I believe. But you want a war?? You sound like a crazed Muslim making comments like that.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Go ahead and do what you want to do. I couldn’t care less.

Geesh talk about coming unwrapped. Perhaps if you could get a grip, you could quit skittering around and make sense.

Here, let me tell you about me:

My wife and I gave Cruz hundreds of dollars, shortly after he announced. Later, when Trump came on, he looked rather buffoonish, at first, I will admit. But, after Cruz stupidly voted to help McConnell on a couple key items—including helping on passing the TPA (before voting a second time against it), we reevaluated Ted. The biggest prior concern we found was his H1-B stance, wherein he proudly justified a 500% increase.

I have contacted his campaign multiple times and my wife and I mention this to Ted's callers ever since (I had a call for more Cruz donations just last night). Ted WILL NOT GET ANYMORE MONEY FROM US. He will get our vote, however, if he wins the nomination and If Trump does not go 3rd party. As it stand ls now, we are voting for Trump because we can't freaking stand the GOPe, of which, Ted has stupidly supported.

The link to Ted's offending H1-B position is here:

Those H1-Bs are not Disney employees. They are employes of a contractor.

The bill does not apply.

I read the article, think Laura Ingraham, she asked him about the abuses at Diseney and he said he could not comment because he did not know about them. ___________________________________________________________

How in the he!! could he NOT know about them?

In May he said he "recently found out about the H-1B abuse".

I want to know how that can possibly be since we on FR have known about it since at least February.

This is just more M2T!

No. Because Cruz is an opportunist. He had no such qualms about the H-1 visa program before Trump struck gold with his immigration position. Now all of a sudden Cruz is concerned about H-1 visas. Plus this will go nowhere because nothing Cruz does goes anywhere. More show for the conservative masses.

Cruz is getting a little sweaty. This dodging of the obvious is not attractive and it stains the shirt collar. Not helpful.

Cruz knows we’re PO that he rejected Sessions and went with McConnell on the TPA vote. I mean, isn’t he suppose to be the smartest boy in the room? Now he wants to belly back up with Sessions to restore his graces with the base.

Cruz knew that stinking vote of his meant bringing TPP to the floor and had to know that it would pass, with Democrat votes. Then he ducks out whining that McConnell “LIED”. Duh?

You’re right: the noted restrictions apply to the “petitioner employer” - http://www.cruz.senate.gov/files/documents/Bills/20151210_AmericanJobsFirstAct.pdf

We need to see the lists of ‘BIG DONORS’ for every candidate. For all we know Tech Firms are buying Cruz... I thought Tech firms were buying Bush - but that might be large farmers looking for low-level cheap labor. At least our guys aren't being bought by people like Soros - men who hate this country.

Well, I guess he hasn’t been looking into this yet.

I learned all I needed to know by reading several articles on FRee Republic.

Can someone please send Ted a link.

As full as Trump’s event schedule is everyday, he can not be expected to remember every news item. The Disney news was not a big item in media news. It is easier for me to remember it because I am relaxing at home, happily retired, and reading posts on FR for a few hours every day.
