This is excellent and will work in all kinds of positions. For instance, in some smaller sports’ worlds, the best practitioners are in other lands. A lot of our coaches here are from those lands. The older head coach is usually from such a country, and to hire his junior coaches, he’ll go to the old country and hire young ones (who do not speak English yet) as they will work hard for peanuts. This will come to a grinding halt if this bill becomes law. Young Americans will have a better chance of becoming coaches.

This probably happens in a zillion businesses. That is a scenario I know.

9 Supreme Court cases argued, 5 won, all on essential Conservative issues. 40+ amicus briefs written for SCOTUS on behalf of Conservative causes.

Shouldered the blame for a government shutdown, caused by Dems, in order to stand by his word to defund Obamacare. Filibustered Obamacare.

Stood up and loudly proclaimed his support of religious freedoms whlie others tip toed around the precious feelings of the LGQBT squads.

So again, what has your guy/gal done to preserve the Republic?

Not sure that this bill will stop the abuse. I thought Disney outsourced the American employees' tasks to a different company and it was that different company that hired the H1B visa people, therefore, Disney did not directly replace American workers with H1B visa people.

Also, that different company gains 'new business' and will not have to pay the H1B visa people high wages because that different company had no prior employees doing that new business work.

The bill sounds like it might be well intended but not at all effective unless it addresses American worker replacement by H1B visa holders via an outsourcing company. And via double outsourcing companies, triple outsourcing companies....

Good questions ...

Below is a link to the speech, and an index that I compiled.

Disney was explicitly cited by Ted Cruz, including a warning that “all” bad companies would absolutely be investigated by a Ted Cruz administration ...

It was “incredible” ...

Will this stop all the whining from the anti-Cruz crowd?

Probably not. We'll see lots of claims that it's a jailhouse conversion I'm sure.

Wait a minute. He already said he wanted to increase these visas.

So sad that you either have not been following the campaign or can't be bothered to read. This has been explained numerous times, but for those with comprehension difficulties, I will make one more attempt.

During the debate over Rubio's Gang of 8 bill, which Cruz opposed, Cruz wanted to demonstrate that the goal of the bill was amnesty, not securing the border. To demonstrate that point, Cruz introduced several amendments that would have nullified the "concerns" of the bills proponents, while still denying illegals citizenship and securing the border. One of these was a proposal to increase H-1b visas, to address the "concern" that securing the border would prevent employers from hiring enough skilled labor from overseas. All of his amendments were defeated, as he knew they would be. But the fact that the Senate had to vote against those amendments helped show the Congress the true goal of the bill, leading to its defeat in the House.

It is funny that Trump supporters will overlook Trump supporting Pelosi, Reid and Clinton as just a business decision - but will look at anything done by another candidate as proof of their "establishment" ties. Just goes to show that for many Trump supporters, it is not about logic or reason - it is all emotional.

Wait a minute. He already said he wanted to increase these visas.

Cruz published his immigration plan months ago basically stating the same content as is in this bill, although it appears he has stiffened it a bit more (getting around the country and talking to people will do that). He proposed a moratorium on H-1B visas, investigation into and prosecution of abuses of the program, a requirement that it only apply to advanced degrees (and not from some bogus diploma mill), and that the numbers be determined by American unemployment.

Of course, the Trump parade has ignored the change, preferring to bash him for an earlier position (I did provide the link on a thread on which you did post later in the thread, so it was there and you ignored it too).

Isn’t it funny how when Cruz changes his opinion on something it is just fine with some but if Trump had a change of heart on a matter years ago they swear he is not to be trusted. I admire Cruz and find flexibility to grow and improve admirable, but some of his followers are simply over the top in double standard.

Cruz still wants 500% more H1-B visa holders, but at least he’s stopping some of his stupidity by the items in this bill.

Cruz has also stated he’d like a 180 moratorium on new H1-B visa issuance after he’s elected to review the program.

I give him minor “thumbs up,” but he’s still Chamber of Commerce crazy.

I give Cruz minor props, but he still wants 500% more.

He has not changed on that aspect.

From Cruz’s own government website:

http://www.cruz.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=137

He has NEVER stated he is now against this, to my knowledge, so, “sources, please” on his apology or retraction.

The source is from 2013. I absolutely agree that he has never issued a retraction. It is way overdue, but I think it more a matter of ego than policy, which I think has changed. It's one of the reasons I have not chosen to support him as a candidate. The lack of repentance is a serious character flaw in a Presidential aspirant. Of course, Trump doesn't have a drop of it in his body and (in my opinion) his immigration plan is actually demographically and politically worse for conservatism than is Cruz'.

Well said CAC. I’m convinced dforest, lewylynn are subversive trolls that are on orders to attack Cruz and foment discord amongst supporters of either. Notice they rarely mention who they support while attacking Mr. Cruz.

If one is on this CONSERVATIVE FORUM and they are attacking Cruz, I guarantee they are trolls.

I completely agree that both candidates have real issues with repentance.

Well said.

That’s a stupid comment. Trump has changed his mind on things in recent Months. Big things. No, you look it up.

And because of the crazed Trump worshippers, I’ve decided to NOT support him like I had been to a large degree. No more. You idiots want war? Let’s go.
