Clinton Would Trounce Trump But Lose to Rubio, Carson by CARRIE DANN

Hillary Clinton would defeat Ted Cruz and trounce Donald Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head general election matchup, but she would lose to Marco Rubio or Ben Carson, a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds.

Clinton, who leads the Democratic primary field by nearly 20 points, would have a strong advantage over Trump with independent voters but would be bested by the three other Republicans with the important swing group.

The poll, conducted Dec. 6-9, shows Clinton getting the support of 56 percent of Democrats, compared to 37 percent who back Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and 4 percent who back former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.

Against Trump, the Democratic front-runner would win 50 percent to 40 percent. Among independents, she would capture 43 percent of the vote, compared to 36 percent for Trump. Among Hispanics, Clinton would get 69 percent of the vote, compared to just 24 percent for Trump.

And against Cruz, who has surged in recent polls in the important early state of Iowa, Clinton would win with 48 percent to Cruz's 45 percent.

These polls are outstanding. In past election cycles going back to the 80’s, the Democrat was always way ahead at this time, even in the ones we won. Everybody is beating Hillary and Cruz is practicly in a statistical tie. The leftist Trump is the only one getting shellacked. I have been down in he dumps about the prospects of Conservatism, but these numbers have perked me back up.

Michael Medved and his friend Lanny Davis agree. Also his friend Senator Lindsey Graham.

WE DO NOT NEED ANY MODERATES OR INDEPENDENTS!!!

If the GOP candidate turns out the millions upon millions of disaffected conservatives to return to the polls, he will win in a LANDSLIDE!!!

All of this “big tent” and “electability” garbage has led us to where we are today.

With 31 percent? That is hardly good. Hillary has over 50 percent and some 60 percent. That’s awful.

They have the electoral college advantage too. It sucks they only need to win one battle ground state to win. We have to win 3.

Let’s be objective reasonable here. Trump draws heavy negatives in the national polls where in some polls as many as two-thirds are unwilling to vote for him. Hillary will get the lion’s share of the female vote who make up 53% of the electorate and will also get a tsunami of Hispanic votes.

This poll is a warning shot.
It will be Cruz or lose.

This is THE funniest article I have EVER read on FR ! Carson won't bed the nominee, but IF he were, lots of GOP voters would stay home3 or write in Trump. Ditto for Rubio!

Where did they take this poll, amongst themselves ?

Hillary has been able to avoid a lot of negative attention throughout the Republican primary process. that will end eventually and she’s going to have nowhere to run to and nowhere to hide.

Three cheers for Amanda and Dave (the interviewees in the MSNBC, live on the street attempt at push-polling) at the youtube you link you provided...

They've been applauded at this site previously, if memory serves. Thank you dynoman for posting that.

No she isn’t; Trump has at least 25% of the black vote, which destroys that 47% !

If Trump is a surefire loser as the poll claims, the Democrat media would be pimping his candidacy to the max.

It appears it was an “anyone but Trump or Cruz” story.
