Ever hear of ‘apples to apples”?
“The Law of Nations” was written in French, and did not mention Natural Born Citizens at all. That erroneous translation was not made until 10 years AFTER the US Constitution was written.
I say erroneous, because the word they translated NBC is “indigenes” - which is an English as well as a French word. While we rarely use “indigene” any more, we do use “indigenous” all the time - to refer to the natives or original inhabitants of a land, such as aborigines or the natives of America...who are not white!
If you believe Cruz's convoluted explanation on TPP then there is nothing you won't believe, so lies are impossible to show you.
He very clearly said a lot more than that in his speeches and his written position. And you damn well know it. You just seem good with excusing it.
Federalist papers...who are you to tell others what name to post under?Again question WHAT is said freely but FR allows any name we choose.
I stand corrected ;)
I have seen articles alluding to the subject you address here, some, quite a few months ago.
I appreciate your attempt to breach the subject, knowing that it would probably require a full armor in doing so. Thank you.
I value the fact that JR and the mods have allowed the thread to stand.
I wonder what Trump knows, in that I believe his comments in Iowa where more directed at the Sr. Cruz, than Ted.
Be strong and carry on ... God already has these things worked out ~
C,Edmund Wright is a pro and also right.
I just have a visceral reaction to Trump which only grows watching freepers sing his praises. I wait to vomit til after I post otherwise I would be more cool headed in my responses.
‘HarleyLady27 does not deserve to be treated the way you are treating her.
A good Christan Conservative would know that.’
A thousand million likes. Christians should speak the truth in love, but we are commanded to be kind and gentle while we’re doing it. The heaps and piles of abuse many of us have taken from Cruz supporters is anything but Christian.
Pots kettles and dark colors.
Christ eschewed secular governance for his "Kingdom is not of this world: if my Kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews." John 18:36. Set, game, match.
Get some good study guides and read the Bible for yourself. I love my pastor but would not vote for him as President. I am sure a moderator could verify the years I have been a member of this forum and it is the distortion of religion that has caused me to post at this time.
On the secular issue of electing a President, be assured that if Cruz is nominated his unprepossessing appearance and professorial delivery will garner fewer states than Goldwater carried.
How do you know Trump says what he believes. What if he says what you believe? Didn’t he admit in one of his ghost written books that complete honesty in making a “deal” wasn’t desirable?
Your last paragraph tells me you don’t care if Trump is Conservative or not. You agree with a few of his “current” positions and the rest aren’t that important.
“You lawyer types exist solely for the purpose of confusing plain English.”
The US Constitution was written by lawyers, who most certainly DID know what they meant:
“The term “citizen,” as understood in our law, is precisely analogous to the term “subject” in the common law, and the change of phrase has entirely resulted from the change of government. The sovereignty has been transferred from one man to the collective body of the people, and he who before as a “subject of the king” is now “a citizen of the State.”

‘If you believe Cruz’s convoluted explanation on TPP then there is nothing you won’t believe, so lies are impossible to show you.’
Correct. Cruz brags on hhis issues page about what excellent changes his amendment would have made to comprehensive amnesty, NOT about what a slick poison pill it was.
Thank you.
Yes, it’s a shame what some of the Crewz do in the name of Christianity.
You’ve not answered either of my requests. But don’t feel bad. No one ever has. Some, however are willing to admit it.
I heard Cruz, on a recording that he was unaware was being made, chuckle with his donor/owners about giving Trump and Carson “big bear hugs” and “smothering them with love” in public while waiting for “gravity” to bring them both down. I also heard Cruz, in his own words, say that he wasn’t going to make gay marriage a focal point of his campaign but would let states handle the matter. It was then that I changed my views about Cruz. It’s quite convenient to jump back and forth between Conservatism, Christianity and Constitutionalism when the need arises. And Cruz’s voice and snide laughter on the recording when describing his own misleading behavior for the benefit of the public didn’t sound like any of them.
O by the way. Here’s a Trump supporter in full fanatical blow trying to tie herself in knots of denial and trashing everyone that called her on her crap.

So don’t cry the blues about us mean Cruzers when this is what you have hiding in plain sight.
“Please provide the relevant sections of the U.S. Constitution that clearly and unambiguously define “Natural Born” as requiring two U.S. Citizens at birth.”
There are many concepts undefined in the Constitution. However, natural born citizenship is defined in the Naturalization Act of 1790 — offspring of two parent citizens
Also, at the time of the Constitution, citizenship descended from the father, and was the case until the 1930s.
Cruz was born in Canada, his mother was a U.S. citizen, his father was not a citizen, he renounced his Canadian citizenship a short time ago, and you want to claim he is a natural born citizen?
I never engage in name calling, and I stick to the issues. If others did the same, you’d hear no complaints from me.
I am not going to play the game of defining conservatism on a site built for conservatism. Please spare me such foolishness. If you don’t know what it is, you should not be here until you do.
