I raised three daughters, and I would have risked death for any of them. This is a harsh judgment I know, but imagine what that poor girl felt watching her father leave her with those animals. I see your point, but at the same time, had he tried to stay and fight, the end result may well have been the father dead, the daughter still raped, and then the daughter dead as well.

I'm not saying dad would have prevailed but his odds of saving his daughter would have been a lot higher if he was carrying. Run out of sight when dismissed and then come back after deploying your firearm. Then start shooting.

I know it sounds horrible that the father left, but there were five thugs with guns so his best chance of stopping the rape probably was to run to get help. Still, how do you look your daughter in the face and say that you left while she was getting raped?

What a terrible situation to be put into, through no fault of his own. He is not the criminal here. He is a victim, as well. While we all would love to believe that we would charge 5 armed men in an attempt to save our daughter, we cannot know this until, God forbid, we find ourselves in a similar, no-win situation.

The real criminals should be tried quickly, castrated slowly, and then executed in the most inhumane way possible. The father, on the other hand, deserves our prayers and sympathy. He must be going through hell, right now.

The kicker is that if the father sacrificed himself, the daughter gang-raped, and then subsequently murdered by the feral yoots, the ONLY detail we would have heard about this story is the prevalence of guns and need for more gun control.

That's a big assumption.

You assume the punk with the gun is not watching for the cops or the dad to come back. No element of surprise in that case.

You assume the dad is a decent shot. His adrenaline is flowing. Does he have a steady hand? We don't know.
