Looks to me like a lot of people around here have fallen into the ‘turd’s trap. This whole Anti-Cruz thing is nothing more than the ‘turds trying to split us.

“turds” = Repube-ican establishment and/or Democrap media BS.

Add to that List bravest NY firefighters during 911;
NY cops who rescued thousands from around the crash site and kept law & order;
Thousands of NY workers who removed thousands of tons of debris and rebuilt the whole area;
Father of modern conservatism; Mr William Buckley;
Mayor Giuliani who got rid of crime in NY city;
And world’s leading financial center, NY city!

I have traveled to 35 or 36 foreign countries, and the city they all want to visit is NY city.

You understand that Cruz as a lawyer worked for Bush. And therefore follows policy set by Bush. That’s how it works. So do we now have a purity test that if you work for an administration that you are personally held accountable for all the bosses policies? When Palin accepted running as VP she was forced to follow the bosses policy then too. Many of McCain’s positions weren’t hers. But her job is to promote the bosses policy, not hers. Is that a bridge too far now?

Thank you Thumper. I find myself participating in discussions less and less here because of the animosity exhibited by those who seem to have unlimited time and energy with vicious attacks on fellow conservatives. NEWSFLASH!!! The perfect candidate does not exist and would never be nominated anyway.

The best we can hope for is someone who will beat the Democratic nominee and have long enough coat tails that we end up with Republican majorities in both houses of congress. If this does not happen we are going to end up with a liberal Supreme Court that will irreparably damage our country. The damage that done by Obama will not be reversed. Our country will be left in ruins.

The best we can do is to pray that the eventual Republican nominee will do what he says and not be misrepresenting his intentions and beat the Democrat nominee because lets face it... we are on the brink of disaster. Lets save the nasty vitriol for the actual election.

FYI dr Ben is a close friend of Trump and speaks with great accolades last summer. The CRUZ trump bromance is no secret. If you have followed the blocks they explain how the establishment has manipulated candidates to obtain delegates. These three have been beating them at the same game It appears :The vitriol on the threads was instigated by paid establishment trolls. Make sure you don’t attack any of the team members or you simply help their cause.
Looks like we are on same team. I’ve backed off Cruz in last week because of the attackers
At least the trump supporters have created a positive supportive community when we watch the rallies. Most of us also like CRUZ. When the CRUZ supporters asked that we all be banned and remove our group that was enough for me. You are welcome to join us if you keep civil.lol It’s a fun informed group
I’ve listed several above who run the show that can attest I’m not a troll

Good points
Made the same for Tribe today when someone stated he was Gore lawyer in gore vs Bush. Also pointed out that he wasn’t the best as he lost the case

I would like to see the end result be a Trump/Cruz/Palin triumvirate. Each of these Americans has strengths that the other two can compliment. Either Trump or Cruz as president and the other as Veep. Palin as SecState....and an official office in Alaska, though small, within sight of Russia....just to infuriate libs and the hags from the “View”.

I disdain "purity" tests. Who is a TRUE Conservative, etc., on and on. No one can ever be "the One". Even Reagan, God bless his soul, wasn't the perfect "conservative". He was once a union leader, his kids went nuts and he was divorced. So what? Trump has the passion and the astounding ability to connect with the masses. Cruz has the intellect and the smarts to compliment Trump....and Palin....well, Sarah is Sarah and I just simply like her style, her guts and her real-ness. She, and none of them, are perfect. Neither am I. I know where my heart and soul is and I believe I know where Trump, Cruz and Palin have their hearts. We could do much worse.

Immigration policy advisor...

You do realize the implications of that right?

The memo Cruz wrote Bush is out there.

It’s not very flattering.

Personally, I could not have worked for Bush. His immigration stance was terrible, and his view of Proposition 187 was also terrible.

It would have been a good idea for Cruz to avoid being negative, leaving that dynamic to Trump.

This isn’t unrecoverable for Cruz, though. If he can get in touch with Christ well enough to answer with grace, sooner or later he’s going to make Trump look very negative in comparison.

I was floored by Reagan in 1981. I also came to respect the man and his life story. I also try, try, to keep in mind his oft referred to 11th Commandment. I am sure each of those who started their campaigns to be the nominee did so with a belief that they could lead the nation and be good at it. I don’t doubt their sincerities, though their policies would be disagreeable. The cream seems to have risen to the top. At least those that were at the varsity debate. I think that Dr. Carson is a good and decent man. I just don’t think he’d be as brilliant a president as he will be saving lives. I like both Trump and Cruz, but for different reasons. Whatever happens, I believe that after all the jostling and intentional fireworks as each struggles to win, they will work as a team for the ultimate goal of resurrecting this nation.

I will grant you Cruz has been fuzzy on immigration. That’s been his weakest area (that I know of).

I voted for 187 and was pretty bitter about it being struck down.

The thing is, the “issues” list is much longer with Trump. And I have no faith in his recent conversion. Trump never talks about returning to the constitution in any meaningful way.

Cruz isn’t perfect but I believe I have a much better idea of what he’d do as President. Trump is wide open, especially when the going gets tough. I don’t see any core driving principles (in conservative terms).

Big Sarah fans her. Sis even brought T shirts back from Alaska.
She and Trump have shared a few pizzas. They have some common connections besides politics.
She will definitely be in his cabinet if not higher.
He has the largest percent of women in his companies than any other corporation. Hired the first female high rise contractor years ago. His right hand gal who has been with him since he started with his dad out of college was interviewed years ago. He woukd have no trouble of putting Palin as VP although managing energy is more her expertise.
I’ve said I wanted CRUZ for SCOTUS Justice we would have him for life and since knowing of the birth controversy since summer it would not disqualify him. Mark my word there will be a declarative decision requested this spring. I really think the debate and “controversy “ is kabuki.
O will be the loser not the republican party.
Are you aware that Trumps sister was a colleague with identical record to Sam Alito. She spoke on his behalf at his confirmation. His legal advicer on issue shares his holiday dinner table Cruz knows that kabuki

Ben will have apparition on the cabinet. He and DT met in children’s hosoitiL work and research. Both are passionate about it. Both involved with St Jude. When trump talks about medical for vets he has experience through building medical facilities for children. Most done philothopically. Eric is now running most of that now No names on buildings etc there. All done as quietly as possible.

Ted has this way of saying things that I don’t particularly believe to be true.

I know you view Trump the same way. So be it.

Ted said that the only reason he proposed doubling the legal immigration yearly numbers and proposing increasing the H1-B visa to a level 500% higher, was to use them as a kill pill in the gang of eight bill.

Well, those amendments to the bill were not adopted.

Then until about October of 2015, Ted was still pushing for the H1-B increase.

His explanation that the H1-B increase had only been a ploy, was patently false. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been pushing for it in 2015.

There are other instances too, and it leaves me feeling a bit car salesman when it comes to Ted.

The important things for me with Trump are:

Immigration deport, build wall, end sanctuary cities
Government deficit spending, he is probably the only person I trust for this
He also says he wants to start paying down the debt.
Nobody say that.
He says he wants to end Obamacare and replace it with private sector. He has explained how.
He wants to bring jobs home.
When he brings jobs home, the tax base literally explodes.

I think the guy has the best chance of helping the nation economically, because he is the one CEO. He understands the bottom line instinctively. Everything he has done for 40 years, had to meet a bottom line.

His campaign has spent very little. He’s way on top. I think that is a great signal as to what he’ll do as our leader.

We have to trust someone sometime.

I think he’s the only one that can literally railroad the Congress to get done what needs to be done.

That’s pretty much my take on it.

Trump still hasn’t converged on his “deal.” The impression I get is that if he saw great interest in the Constitution then he’d make it figure prominently in his agenda.

I’m not a Constitution-firster. I’m a God-firster, which may or may not imply a president who is a believer. I’d much sooner see a revival among We The People than expect Christian politicians to do everything that ought to be done.
