Mike Huckabee Backs Donald Trump’s Values, Points to Other Candidates’ Flip Flops
Breitbart ^ | 1/16/2016 | ALEX SWOYER

Posted on 01/16/2016 1:33:33 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

GOP presidential candidate former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is defending GOP frontrunner Donald Trump against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)'s (R-TX) criticism.

The Cruz campaign is pointing to Trump's interview with Tim Russert from 1999, in which, according to the Cruz campaign, "Donald Trump asserts that New York 'views' and 'attitudes' are different than other places in the country, such as Iowa."

Huckabee was asked if he thinks Trump is now sincere in what he says. "I have no reason to doubt him. He's pretty outspoken, you got to give him credit for that."

Huckabee went on to criticize Cruz, although not by name.

If you want to talk about a candidate whose switched positions you got a bunch of them out there who changed themselves on Trans Pacific Partnership, on ethanol and on foreign policy and all over the board. So you know, Donald Trump's positions if they changed, they changed over 15 years not the last 15 minutes.

Huckabee, Cruz, and Trump are all speakers at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Would Huckabee be a good VP running mate?

One big government statist backing another. No surprise.

Huckabee was asked if he thinks Trump is now sincere in what he says. "I have no reason to doubt him. He's pretty outspoken, you got to give him credit for that."

He certainly is.

Awe shucks, Huck. Deep down all you’ll ever be is a used car salesman.

“Huckabee would be a great Press Secretary. His Fox host experience and his ability to communicate conservative principles are outstanding.”

You know, that’s a really good idea. Huck would be real good at that job. He’s fast on his feet, personable, great with one liners, and deflects well. I like it.

@realDonaldTrump has given $84K to @NYGovCuomo, who says conservatives have no place in NY because they don’t share #NewYorkValues.

Do you have anything nice to say about ANYONE who espouses conservative values? Nothing you stated, even if true, negates Huckabee’s potential to be a press secretary. Perhaps even VP, sure.

You Cruz guys are a big FAIL on what are basic arguing skills learned in college debate. What Cruz did with insulting New York in general is of the same caliber as to what Romney did in writing off the “lower 47%”.

Despicable Huckster is absolutely correct.

What did he say that wasn’t true?

The effort now is to so anger the supporters of either Trump or Cruz that they will not go to the other guy if their candidate falters. I will support either. Period. No establishment operations will peel me off to Rubio or bush or to sitting on the sidelines. The loudest voices calling on you to hate Trump or Cruz are doing the establishment’s work. Don’t doubt it.

"You Cruz guys are a big FAIL" I'm an American guy. I know what New York values are as well as you do. Trump has the media with him on this and that's the way the world works. I'm hoping we don't all fail and give this race to Hillary.

“He is now a minor player among evangelicals and that eats away at him.”

You might be right. I’m an evangelical and when he started his Fox show and jammed with rock bands he lost credibility with me. Most — not all, I’m sure — fundamental evangelicals I know have a problem with that. If he wanted to be a major player among evangelicals he should’ve made different choices.

I do like him in many ways, and he could be a good Press Secretary.
