RINOs want a Republican party without having to worry about the voters.

Interesting NR calls the GOPe the "constitutional Right" when they lack the constitution to be right. They have no guiding principles other than open borders, sell out America, and go a bit slower over the cliff than Democrats.

Also, have you noticed there aren't any articles on 'angry Democrats' even though Sanders is about to win a state or two?

No articles about how there's a disconnect between the party and the Democrat base. None.

Venture (and I warn you) over to Democratic Underground. 90% plus of the posters support Bernie. Bernie has gotten more individual contributors than Obama did last time out.

All the focus is on the Republicans.

BOTH political parties are facing open rebellion from their base.

Yeah sure that is the ticket.

The Republican party is TOO conservative for the base.

Yeah sure that’s the ticket.

RINOs want a Republican party without having to worry about the voters.

Which is why Jeb! said he would grab the nomination without the base.

They don't even know who we are.

I'm sick of lying frauds who sell crap to the morons (us) and then set land speed records in putting cash filled envelopes in their inside coat pockets. We have a candidate that will execute the Republican party. I wish him Godspeed.

Actually an interesting read and I agree that there is an ideological divide between “the base” and the establishment.

The Establishment tend to have a less patriotic and more globalist view. That means they love crony capitalism, foreign interventionism, and weak borders to allow more cheap labor into our country.

The Establishment then create political theories to express and actualize their above stated desires...

The base... Don’t give a rats ass about that. The base are America first patriots. The base wants their country back, the base wants their jobs back, and the base wants to be respected again.

This is a revolt, not an election. We’re mad as hell and tired of being lied to and sold out!

The GOP ranks have swelled so much that the middle has moved leftward. The reason is the abandonment of the center by the Democratic party.

So yes, the conservative base has become diluted a bit.

Yep. And the National Review is part of the GOPe. At least is used to be, I haven’t ventured over to their website in about 10 years. I assume they are only worse now.

TN had a Republican super majority and did nothing with it to make TN conservative friendly. Pretty sure TN will be the home of the second Islamic caliphate in the US.

I never stopped being a conservative.

The GOP has ceased to be a conservative party.

If it had acted like one, it wouldn’t be worrying about Trump today.

Another dumb article. The key issues, immigration and bad trade deals, do not fit neatly into the conservative and non-conservative cubbyholes. Until these geniuses factor that into their “analysis”, they will continue to look and sound like idiots.

That’s been Captain Obvious since the day Trump announced.

Here the all are - At a JEB! speech. Just look at them!

Did I mention they are also invisible?

If the GOP delivered on just one or two issues important to their voters sometime over the last fifteen years, they wouldn’t have this problem.

Oh Goody, another piece by the delusional pipsqueaks at National Review.

No pipsqueaks, the people have figured out that both parties are not Pro America.

They are
pro politician
pro illegal alien
pro Islam
pro Wall Street bankers
pro meddling all over the world
pro open borders

And, by the way TigerClaws, your post is spot on.

Because Republicans, on the national level, are pro amnesty, open border, H-1B loving, unFair Trading, a gloBULList corporate whores and Obama butt kissers. Those aren’t very conservative values.

Actually, I think he makes some good points.

I've read hundreds of posts here where people are calling out Trump for "not being a conservative" and often, the response is some variation on "I don't care." Maybe those particular Trump supporters (not all, obviously), just aren't/weren't real movement conservatives.

And I think the author also is right in explaining why Trump is attracting Democrats. It's not because those Democrats are closet conservatives, but rather that they're not liberal, and that's the direction in which their party is heading at breakneck speed.
