Those comments will not soon be forgotten, esp. when those “stupid” conservatives are needed come October-November 2016...

If Cruz makes the statement I mentioned, he provides cover for the Supreme Court to duck the issue until the next POTUS is seated. They have a history of this (Obama) ducking. Chester Arthur and Barack Obama were both seated without judicial review, so precedent exists. And, the courts operate "post facto" -- until damages can be proven there is no case to hear. So I do believe Cruz could be seated. Though I also agree with you, the democrats especially will do everything in their power to prevent it. As such, as part of his statement, Cruz would need to signal to the American people that he is continuing his campaign "in good faith" that just as Obama was vetted, he too would be vetted and found eligible. In other words, he would change from the "nothing to see here" strategy to the "if he's in, I'm in" strategy. This will give democrats pause, because attacking Cruz on those terms puts to risk the "accomplishments" Obama has made in office. They are, after all, in the same or similar boat. I do believe Cruz can win this election, but not using the campaign advice he is currently following. If he continues to insult the intelligence of the conservative base, he'll hand the primary to Trump for certain.

"nothing to see here" strategy to the "if he's in, I'm in" strategy.

Seems to me has been doing that, save for bringing Obama into it. I have never read or heard either Levin or Cruz ever say "nothing to see here, move along."

Those words were coined by critics, and likely critics that are here on the forum.

How dare Mark speak ill about the new king trump. Listen to all the trumpets crying like liberals because he dares to see that Trump is naked.
How many people here, before Trump switched to being a “Conservtive” thought Cruz was the best person? Now we have Trump, all swagger and bluff, talking like he knows whats going on and the people here swoon like the dems did for Obama. FR has become a Trump love fest. either people are too stupid or too blind to see that Trump is a ill mannered lout who never had to do anything but live off his old mans cash.

What’s a fact?

Let me tell you how I think happened when they tried to view and talk with the kids...and there were kids...

While they were en route, there was a report that they (govt agents) had turned away a congressman and his delegation, can’t recall who, and I think there were others.

What I think happened was that they could not gain access, which was the intent. I think they were left with only one course of action and that was to leave the stuff they brought and head back to the barn.

But this is conjecture based on some factual basis.

But to your erroneous point, the intent was to get into the compound and see what was what. it would have made a great story to wrap around Obama’s head, but they, (The feds) sealed up the facility to prevent just that.

BTW, While all this was going on, this place was percolating with Beck derangement syndrome.

I am guessing that you have never gotten over your case of it.

I did..

Wow, what a video!

(What a sincere, genuine, straight-from-the-heart kind of guy, eh?)

(Kind of reminds me of this old guy.   Remember him?)

Is Levin listening to the voices inside of his head?

Why don't you ping him and ask him directly?

If Cruz gets through the primaries, the issue will be seen as purely political.

Lord you’re right, I haven’t listened to him in several months!

I’m going by what’s been posted on FR by people I know are nutcase Trump haters.
It’s not fair to him to judge Mark by what those nuts say.

I’ll make a point of catching a show soon.

Seems that disinformation is coming from everywhere. I am not a conspiracy nutcase, but someone has to be sowing the seeds of insanity.

Mark is a solid and smart conservative. He was critical of candidates when they used inane criticism of the liberal kind to cut their opponents down to side. Trump did this once and mark, as he has done for others, criticized it.

That started a crap storm that has yet to abate. And it came from Trump supporters.

Mark has made it clear many times what he was critical of, and that he liked Trump.

Today again he said he would vote for him in the general.

But nothing will stop the criticism of Mark Levin.

A big plus one,,, I dont even recognize this place anymore.

I believe Cruz would be a much better President but the Donald might have a better chance of winning. Trump truly is a loose cannon though, I dont trust him or his newly found convictions, especially after the sleezy attacks against Cruz.

Compare Trumps apparent flipflopping with the stuff that caused Romney to lose the election.

Trumps are newer (maximum 16 years) and he was actually a democrat.

It was not that long ago. We learned that pragmatism did not win elections, did we not?

This has to be all about immigration, but the two candidates views are no far apart or nearly identical, but cruz’s work in this area goes back a lot longer. he’s totally solid.

It’s a mystery to me..reminds me of social media activity with flash mobs.

I dunno....I may need to take some time off..

It was the great one’s criticizing Trump without criticizing Cruz’s “NY values” meme that made me think he’d jumped the shark.
The “NY values” meme is very nuanced: RINOs, NE Liberal media. It had to be played with a light hand.

But, as I said, I haven’t heard ‘the horse’s mouth’.

I don't believe it was made "intentionally ambiguous" at all. The Framers wrote the Constitution purposefully using the common language of the day. They wanted a government of the People, so they wrote the binding documents in the language the People could easily understand. And encouraged us to continue that legacy in all our legal doings.

The Constitution leaves no room for doubt upon this subject. The words "natural-born citizen of the United States" occur in it, and the other provision also occurs in it that "Congress shall have power to pass a uniform system of naturalization." To naturalize a person is to admit him to citizenship. Who are natural-born citizens but those born within the Republic? Those born within the Republic, whether black or white, are citizens by birth -- natural-born citizens. There is not such word as white in your Constitution. Citizenship, therefore, does not depend upon complexion any more than it depends upon the rights of election or of office. All from other lands, who, by the terms of your laws and a compliance with their provisions become naturalized, are adopted citizens of the United States; all other persons born within the Republic, of parents owing allegiance to no other sovereignty, are natural-born citizens. Gentlemen can find no exception to this statement touching natural-born citizens except what is said in the Constitution in relation to Indians. The reason why that exception was made in the Constitution is apparent to everybody. The several Indian tribes were recognized at the organization of this Government as independent sovereignties. They were treated with as such; and they have been dealt with by the Government ever since as separate sovereignties. Therefore, they were excluded from the general rule.

   Hon. John A. Bingham
The Congressional Globe April 11th, 1862, page 1639

The emphasis is mine. The issue is as simple as John Bingham stated it was, without disagreement, seventy-nine years after the War for Independence was won. Children born in the Republic (jus soli) of parents (plural) owing allegiance to no other sovereignty (jus sanguinis) *are* in language of the Constitution the natural-born citizens. With the one exception provided of the American Indians, this definition of natural-born citizen was without contradiction in 1862 and prior, according to Bingham's most educated estimation. As the author of the 14th Amendment, issues of citizenship were his strong suit.

There is a modern interpretation that boils down to the Congress being able to redefine any word in the Constitution of its choosing without following the amendment process. I think that is a terrible precedent to set. If we permit redefining "natural born citizen" today, they'll redefine "shall not be infringed" tomorrow. They are already trying to redefine "militia" without using the amendment process. If we permit this to succeed, the unintended consequences will be disastrous.

All that being said, I do believe Cruz can be seated as POTUS as there is precedent in Chester Arthur and Barack Obama for doing just that. But he won't get the nod and have that opportunity if he does not stop disenfranchising the high-information conservative base. Right now his potentially most staunch supporters are shaking our collective heads wondering what kind of Constitutional authority can get this point so wrong. And then to use the "nothing to see here" strategy to ignore it is insulting to our intelligence.

Ted Cruz can win this election, but not, in my opinion, by following the course his campaign advisers have plotted for him. It worked for Obama because he is a black liberal democrat. They effectively used "racism" to quell the argument. Ted Cruz does not have that luxury. He needs to try a different tactic.

Embrace the conundrum and signal to the People that once seated as POTUS he will use the influence the Executive Branch of government to formally request clarity be provided by the Judicial Branch of government, whether it works in his favor or not. By showing conservatives that he is willing to face potential impeachment himself in order to protect the sanctity of the Constitution, he will show he is a genuine originalist, and encourage our trust and favor. That will go along with us conservative birthers; and I believe the bulk of us will happily stand down out of respect for the gesture and anticipated final resolution.

So am I (sick and tired of stupid talk)!! This is quarreling over such minor things.. there is no substantive things being learned about what the candidates aim to do. I have tuned them out.. I’m no longer interested in listening to the kids fuss. IT’s boring and a waste of time... The more they fuss, the less respect I have for them.. and doubt they are who I thought they were a couple months ago.
