Sarah Palin's Endorsement Speech
My Fetid Mind | January 19th, 2016 | Mariner

Posted on 01/19/2016 4:41:32 PM PST by Mariner

I just finished watching Sarah Palin's endorsement of Donald Trump and I have some observations.

Sarah Palin is a rhetorical genius. Like her or not, she's really good at political rhetoric.

And, I hope Trump is PAYING her, she's worth $5mil a month during the primaries so hopefully he'll be paying her at least $3mil/month.

This endorsement matters. She bring more "blue collar" credibility and conservative "good enough" to put all other GOP challengers back on their heels looking for life support.

This endorsement likely is the death knell for the Cruz campaign. I think it now means Trump will win Iowa, something I was sure he had locked up. I even contended aggressively with fellow Freepers on this matter. I considered it an illusion that anyone besides Cruz could win Iowa, but now I believe it will be Trump.

And Sarah Palin will be the reason.

Without Iowa, Cruz has no campaign.

Flame away, but do as well as you can to keep it civil.

It appears you are saying that the ends justifies the means. That may or may not work with a charismatic leader like Trump, but that’s yet to be seen. But someone who restores some sanity to DC and reduces the power grab is what is needed. I am all for what you are hoping for, but much more is needed to sustain this nation and Trump isn’t the guy to reverse that trend.

Oh Sarah, I have very publicly supported and sang your praise over the years. How could you go so far off the reservation? Ann in 2012 now you? The State of the Nation is truly messed up when the bastions of conservatism are willing to compromise values for power and influence. We all have a right to support whom we will but what a dark day it is when Sarah has become little more than a cheerleader.

“Great speech by Palin.
Great day for Trump.
Bad day for Cruz and his Cult.”

A group of people who mindlessly follow a bellicose leader who often doesn’t have a clue what he is saying seems more like a “cult”, and certainly fits the description of Trump sycophants.

Now I know you will be ready to return some nasty put down. But I’m just asking, if it is okay for Trump followers to belittle Cruz followers, doesn’t fairness dictate that we can also return the favor? Or has Trump been declared a demigod?

“For those who view Trump as something of a carnival barker, she’d just be another sideshow act.”

She WAS a sideshow act - her voice was high pitched and shrill, piercing ear drums, and rambling from subject to subject just as he does. I thought it was terrible and glad she was not with Cruz doing that.

I have no idea if she will help Trump.

Many people may not know that sir Winston Churchill switched from conservative to liberal then back to the Conservative party in the years prior to his appt. He is without question Britain ‘s greatest prime minister serving his country and the world during the Second World War, then he switched again after losing reelection in 1945....Time will tell about Donald Trump, but I Honestly think he may be the last hope America has to be great again. At Least he wants that hope which our current Sob in chief certainly is the opposite in view.

True she is loyal, that’s why she supported McCain for Senate in 2010. When FREEPERs blasted Palin for endorsing McCain, I made the same point. Palin also supported Kelly Ayotte whiched rightly erked Free Republic. She was wrong and later said Kelly was a turncoat.

If he surrounds himself with talented people he’ll be fine. All I need him to do is build the wall, enforce e-verify, and make being politically incorrect mandatory.

I’m watching tentatively how this goes. I really do admire and trust Sarah, her judgement and integrity. I’m thinking she may know more about Trump, why he became a Republican and just how deeply he believes some of the stuff he says he wants to do.

If he has changed and is more conservative(which can probably happen as a person gets older and has grandchildren) then he could be the person for the job. I like Cruz but I just don’t think he can make things happen like Trump could.

Remember the field Trump made his wealth in, that is a very challenging field. I’ve designed and built 2 houses of my own, and it is a heckuva a challenge, fraught with real potential to screw up majorly.

So he knows how to start from the foundation, stick through all the stages and end up with something that you are proud of and others admire.

We shall see. I like Cruz for solicitor general

Your right, certain things like the cussin, calling the person that didn’t get the microphone at a rally right, a “son of bitch”...Tends to undermine your religious testimony and says something about your character, to go after the lowest of your workers, mostly cause it made you maybe look a lil bad.

Palin should have been at home stopping her son from abusing a female and threatening to shoot himself with semi automatic rifle while drunk. The address listed was Palins home.

Asinine.

RE> .. on a crazy endeavor to get Cruz and Trump advocates to focus ..

I admire and support your crazy endeavor. It’s barely been bearable to read through many threads. I understand the passions involved. Many have financially supported their candidate, and many are emotionally invested. I suspect you also understand. FR divided into fighting camps does not do well for defeating our very real opponents; DEMs, Elite GOP and Media. The Media is clearly reading the discord here, and trying to leverage and widen any cracks in our front. Thank you for your efforts to calm the forces. I hope many join you, in good cheer. What is self evident is that we seem ready to fight to win the main fight that is surely coming. I suspect that before too long there will be many accomplishments within reach that we can all be happy about ... the pending defeat of the forces against the American middle class and our values in clear view. That time is near. Screw them, let’s just win it this time !

Her speech was not well received, i think Palin is going to hurt Trump more than help, and along with his calling for more ethanol subsidies, Trump has joined the establishment and loses his outsider status. The mask is off Trump...cronyism and deal making with the elites is how he would govern. More of the same crap.
