Trump mocks Cruz's plan to campaign with 'wacko' Glenn Beck

Donald Trump mocked Glenn Beck's planned appearances with Ted Cruz in Iowa in the coming days, portraying it as a "sad answer" to Sarah Palin's endorsement of his own candidacy earlier this week.

"Wacko @glennbeck is a sad answer to the @SarahPalinUSA endorsement that Cruz so desperately wanted," Trump tweeted Thursday morning. "Glenn is a failing, crying, lost soul!"

Because Saul Alinsky was right about how to handle politics. The current state of America is a testament to his being correct on this. Donald Trump wrote the Art of the Deal, but he read Rules for Radicals.

Donald Trump may not be a Conservative, but he is a Radical for the American Way. Why do you think that there are reports from Davos that they are afraid of Donald Trump?

I would rather hear Trump argue the issues. But he can't seem to do that.

Trump would lose big if he stuck to the issues. He's got some good themes, but I don't think he is able to discuss the issues with any depth.

.. In 2011 Glenn Beck denounced..
You forget nothing matters anymore. Ask yourself or any other trumpee... His lies are ignored or supported, his flip flops? Hey - that was then - ... His deals with libs and moneys to democrats ... Hey that is the game.
You are incapable of looking at facts. You defend all that is indefensible in donnie. You LOVE DT’s attacks on Cruz that are lies and you really care about truth.
Another trumpee apologist who only sees what they want, never mind facts.

In 2011 Glenn Beck denounced the TEA Party as "racists" for supporting Newt Gingrich. In July 2014, Beck, with Cruz in tow, went to the border to throw a welcome party for invaders, handing them soccer balls, and teddy bears. In Sept 2015, Beck again went on the attack against TEA Party members who support Trump, denouncing them as "racists."

Glenn Beck is obviously suffering from some form of mental illness.

Since Beck has now endorsed Cruz, perhaps Cruz should be asked whether or not he agrees with Beck's attacks against the TEA Party.

That is a fair question. Sarah Palin is considered the political godmother of the TEA Party and Cruz has rightly given her credit for where he is today in the U.S. Senate.

The question needs to be asked.

It would be accurate and make things clearer if the Cruz segment of the GOP were called The Glenn Beck Wing of the party.

Next we will hear that the Follywood elites will be attacking Trump. Oh they are doing that.

Trump is finished now that Beck and the Follywood Elite are against him.

Our parents/grandparents told my generation, you are measured by your friends. We passed that on to our now adult children and grandkids.

I’ve never said a nice thing about Trump (I was going to say during the campaign, but that would be inaccurate), but please let me state without equivocation - Beck is a wackanoodle.

What we are seeing with Trump is a nationalistic populist movement sucking in a lot of good patriotic people. People better figure Trump out pretty quick or we will be in more trouble than we are already in. Trump is no true conservative, but for a few slip-ups that betray him, he could get an Oscar for his performance. This is no more than 1930s and 2008 populism déjà vu in a completely different cloak. Trump is using the modus operandi described in Eric Hoffer's 1951 book, "The True Believer" - Thoughts On The Nature Of Mass Movements. Trump has found a void and has created a cult following. He is taking legitimate issues and concerns and using them to generate a fanatical mass movement of "True Believers" -- intoxicated Trumpaholics, and Tump is their cult leader. There is no way to talk to many of them; their minds have been snatched. Many will not realize the fantasy until it all falls down. History repeats. It is déjà vu all over again.

We should get used to Trump mocking every conservative personality out there that disagrees with him.

Hardly.

If you don't think Beck deserves mocking for what he's been and done over the last few years, you've not been on FR or perhaps hiding somewhere.

Most people don’t know that Cruz and Beck were handing out supplies to illegals on the border.

I can't wait for Trump to tweet about it a few days before the Iowa caucus.

Yes, where has Trump been on the issues? He has been all over the place with his opinions, but all we really know is that he has been tremendously successful with bis business enterprises. He makes a HUGE amount of money and he reminds us all the time about that.

I am afraid that what I am seeing is the Oprah-nization of the Republican party. How many people show up just because there might be a handout?

There was that guy who stopped to help a limo with a flat tire and got his entire mortgage paid off for his effort.

That is some series walking around money.

Imagine giving this advice to a Republican presidential candidate: What if you stopped calling yourself a conservative and instead just promised to make America great again?

What if you dropped all this leftover 19th-century piety about the free market and promised to fight the elites who were selling out American jobs?

What if you just stopped talking about reforming Medicare and Social Security and instead said that the elites were failing to deliver better healthcare at a reasonable price?

What if, instead of vainly talking about restoring the place of religion in society something that appeals only to a narrow slice of Middle America. You simply promised to restore the Middle American core, the economic and cultural losers of globalization to their rightful place in America?

What if you said you would re store them as the chief clients of the American state under your watch, being mindful of their interests when regulating the economy or negotiating trade deals?

I really don’t think appearing with Beck is going to sway very many of the undecided. I don’t listen to Beck very often but the times I do it’s basically 2-3 hours of anybody but Trump infomercial squawkfest with Larry & Moe.
