Some news to report out of Las Vegas where Donald Trump sat down with Field & Stream magazine for an interview during the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s annual SHOT Show.

First up, the GOP front-runner came out against letting states control public lands now run by the federal government saying, “I don’t like the idea because I want to keep the lands great, and you don’t know what the state is going to do."

For some reason Regan didn’t turn over the Nat. parks to the states. Why, I dont know. So this isn’t a simple case of Do A = Real conservative, do B = Not.

Obviously Ronald Reagan wasn't a real conservative.

Remember, Ronald Reagan was an actor who epitomised Hollywood values and was pro-choice before flip-flopping on the issue.

And, IMO, just another in the list of why the term ‘conservative’ means diddly.

Ol’ Teddy R., starting the Socialist race into the 20th century. Here, Trump is exactly correct. The Constitution being PRETTY clear. Except for a FEW instances (postal roads and the like) the FEDERAL govt ‘owns’ sh!t.

Either you believe/follow or you (legally) change; there’s no ‘Oh, because XYZ like it’ or ‘51% believe in...’.

Has it NOT been shown over and over the Fed is NOT a steward in good standing? Closing off once public because of some Sierra-planted spotted-lynx hair or fruit-fly or...Even CREATING massive blazes because they don’t ‘allow’ logging/clearing?

How the term ‘federal lands’ can even be debated, on this board alone, is disturbing.

Here, Trump is wrong. Yet, I haven’t read/heard the position of others in the race (ala they all deserve a severe tongue lashing, or just a few).

Course, not so curiously, there’s nary a question such as, “The Constitution states XYZ. You’ve said/your position is...”. The document has LONG been abused and neglected.

Actually, this might just astonish you, but I am frequent user of the largest of the Texas State parks.

Yes it does astonish me.

I am long past being sick to my stomach of hearing what he wants or does not want....He's telling everyone one who he really is but makes no difference.

Obama told us exactly what he was going to do, Reform America" well he has made a mess alright, but he said all that before he was elected, who cared?

Frankly at this point I would take any of the other candidates over Trump.""""......

I am beginning to feel the same way. Every day that Trump says something about Cruz for NO reason.

. Why does Cruz SCARE Trump so bad? After all Cruz is no threat I am told........

remember he also favors Single payer health care....

Freepers have been hollering about all these things right here in FR for years now, and doesn't seem to bother them that Trump says he's all in on these things. Go figure.

abortions for rape and incest victims (which happens a lot more than people think with incest victims}, single payer, federal land not being turned over to states, seem to be taking second place to the greater good, from what i read

and boy Ted gets bashed alot with comments like “i dont want a preacher” i’m not looking for a theocracy” etc.

makes me think i’ve imagined the thousands of posts i’ve read over the past 15 years.

oh well. will be interesting to see how trump’s justice department handles state abortion laws in the south.

Trump is telling them everyday all the things he will do, which are all the things that Freepers have been against all these years.......yet no ears to hear. It's because he is a Rock star......and people don't like to be seen as against the popular "It" Rock Star.

I can't tell you how much grief was given me when I voiced my disgust for their HERO Michael Jackson, a very disturbed and disgusting soul who played with himself on stage all the time.......people went nuts over this freak...

I have not answer for the cure.....

We don’t have to say anything about The Don.

He manages to put his own foot in that pouty little mouth every day.

Picking Cruz for VP would be a smart move but I predict he’ll pick Rubio.

He’s said too much about Cruz and I think that ship has not only sailed but disappeared over the horizon.

Although Cruz has continued to refrain from bashing Trump ... still has some nice things to say about him.

You know, Philip, I’m almost at that point myself.

Every day I dislike Trump more and lose more respect for him.

Maybe I missed it but has he said much about Rubio?

My prediction is that he will pick Rubio for his veep if he gets the nomination.

Cruz has a much warmer and more charming personality than Trump.

Have you ever seen him interact with voters?

Trump is just bellow and bombast.

I beg to differ, Doc, that is exactly what Trump is running for.

He plans on big government ... he just thinks it will be better with him at the helm.

We already know he will continue a form of Obamacare .. he’s said so.

We know he’s not particular interested in getting rid of the IRS and establishing a fair tax system.

When has he mentioned Planned Parenthood?

If Rubio ever squeezes past Cruz, then Rubio will be the target of the attacks.

I agree with you.

Something is wrong with him. (The Don)

It becomes apparent when he is crossed in any way.

Example: He loved Ben Carson but Ben was way ahead in Iowa. So dear old Donald attacked him viciously to the point of saying something was wrong with him mentally ... he also called the Iowa voters stupid.

He’s okay with Cruz but Cruz was creeping ahead in Iowa and he launched a full-blown and unfair attack. Totally underhanded.

And how about Megyn Kelly? Who the heck is Megyn Kelly? She is just a good-looking news gal on Fox News. He launches a childish all-out attack on her.

My gosh, he tweeted about her for days. Who does that? Surely not a presidential candidate but, yeah.

Just watch what happens if anything goes wrong for Trump.

That fat jolly face will turn into the Coachman on Pinocchio . He will either lash out or sull up. He’s just a rich little boy in a Big Man suit. I can’t believe we’re all so into him.

True but I thought maybe another reason for Trump to hold off on Rubio was this plan he has to take Rubio on as veep and scoop up his nice share of voters.

If Cruz has an NBC problem, then so does Rubio. My money is on Kaisch or Fiorina. Then again he might pick Carson.
