This is an emergency means for us to keep in touch with our FRiends, who are real Conservatives, in case of purging. Or, if there is no purging, do we really want to continue our discussions in the forum where the owner despises us for not supporting his non-Conservative candidate?
My purpose is to figure out what to do to continue our discussions to advance Conservatism.
Isn’t THESMOKINGGUN the site that does all of the criminal mug shots, etc., or am I thinking of a different site?

Thanks for posting the alternative site for us Jim. I have been looking for another site to take a break from FR for awhile.
I have been a FREEper for many years now and been through a few election cycles. This one is completely different. Never did I think a man like Ted Cruz and Mark Levin would be smeared almost 24/7 on your site. And you can’t get away from it. You try and find a thread somewhere where Donald Trump isn’t in forced into the conversation and ruins the thread. Just about the only Trump Free zone left was the archeology threads.
It is nigh impossible to learn anything of substance here now. It has become useless to try and glean real news stories or reasoned debate on some of the serious issues of the day. No one wants to have to pick through hundreds of name-calling posts hoping to find one nugget of useful information.
It is not for me to tell you how to run your site. But I did want to give you some kind of feedback as to why people may be leaving. Your site has been taken over by a group of people who are not conservatives and not really all that interested in restoring our Constitution. I hope they have very deep pockets. They have bullied people so much that some of us find it to be just an unpleasant tortuous place to be with little to no useful information or reasoned discussions any longer.
I hope you take this in the spirit in which it was intended. I know that you have said that this isn’t a Republican site and isn’t owned by that party. However it seems to me that now this is a Donald Trump site and real conservatives are no longer welcome.
I know you have worked so hard to make FR what it was. I enjoyed it so much and it was a big part of my day for many years. I am hoping that when things settle down a bit and the elections are over I can come back and enjoy FR once again and be a supporter.
I am not going to be missed I am sure. I am nobody of importance. I’m not doing this to be nasty or pouty etc. I cannot engage in the type of nastiness that is the norm here right now and it is best for me to take a break for awhile so I don’t say anything I will regret later. I wish more here would do the same and take a break as it is clear that some have lost their perspective & reason completely.

I read many times over the years the same exact thing coming from the mouthes of conservatives on this site, so I don't really see your point.

I find it highly amusing Cruz supporters who had zero issue slamming one of the most -- if not THE most -- conservative governors in this country now clutch their pearls over another Republican doing some hard truth talking.
First of all, these stupid names, “Trumpsters” or “Cruzies” what is this a schoolyard playground? Grow up! Maybe these people want to discuss the current election like adults, with adults.(Now before someone reads more into that than is there, I’m not one of them wanting to leave FR, nor have I talked to anyone who does, but I’m just making an observation based on the utter idiocy and childishness I’ve been seeing)
I hope to vote for Trump. I guess I’m a conspiracy nut because I’m afraid either Obama will find/create a reason to declare Martial Law or they will steal the election for Hitlery and we won’t get either of them.
But if Cruz gets the nomination, you dang right I’m voting for him. Even with all the FEC crap and the Beck nonsense and everything else, the fact remains he’s a Saint compared to that witch and that whack job Sanders.
So I don’t want anyone saying that I didn’t declare for Cruz should he get the nomination, because I. Just. Did.

Except you will only hear a limited discussion and "civil discourse on the pressing matters of the day." The perception you come away with will be biased and slanted because many people here have been bullied and hounded and zotted for simply, civilly stating a political opinion that veers outside of a small but aggressive-attack groupthink.
Bravo?? Really? To me, it just makes FR that much less reflective of my fellow American conservatives and that much more reflective of an angry minority that insists it's a majority. I expect that by Nov 2012 the only folks here were Romney supporters, and when Romney lost, it came as a shock even though hundreds of your fellow FReepers here tried to clue you in and when they were treated with hostility, they left, leaving a balance who presented a one-side and distorted picture of where actual conservatives stood. Where the real balance stood on election day, unlike at FR because they'd been shooed away, was "Screw Romney and the donkey he rode in on -- I'm not wasting my vote on electing something I despise."
So all of FR's attempts to force the issue, failed. People's opinions remained the same -- they just stopped expressing them here.
It's only January, and it's beginning to happen again. And you're saying "Bravo."

After reviewing some of the comments, and as a consistent Cruz/Trump Trump/Cruz fan from the beginning, who has been pushed to the Trump camp due to that gang of 22 at NReview, it’s frustrating to see conservatives act so pouty because their candidate isn’t beating Trump.
The take their ball and go home crowd needs to get some spine and stick it out to defeat the Queen of Benghazi.

I Very Much appreciate the truth, knowledge and discourse FReepers provide here on a wide variety of topics.
That’s why this forum is so important to me.
I also earnestly hope we take action on our main agreements.
We need to preserve our free republic while we can.
