And all the other candidates are looking for their long knives.

No, Cruz can handle Kelly. He has no need to drop out, nor any need to validate any other candidate’s ego. Besides, it would help him if he could land a damaging blow on Rubio. Rubio can’t win, but he can draw the “isn’t he cute” demographic. My own daughter, though I explained it to her and she’s a Cruz backer now. So Cruz stands to gain from either debate.
BTW, Levin said he knows the Trump campaign is listening to his show, so he also extended the offer directly to the Trump campaign. As for phone calls, sure, why not. But this isn’t twenty years ago. If Trump doesn’t at least respond to the offer through social media or something, lots of folks are going to read that as a big yellow stripe down his back. That’s how I’d see it. Interesting to watch how this plays out. :)

Trump is too much of a coward to face li’l ol’ moderate Megan Kelly, but he’ll deal with Pelosi and Schumer.
Trump just cut and run from a chick asking tough questions, don’t try to make believe it was a profile in courage.
It could cut either way.....

I remember when Jeb Bush did the same thing. That’s what all the candidates do when they’re losing and can’t find any way to claw their way back up. Too bad, as far as I’ve heard, it’s against the rules for them to even have an unsanctioned debate.
And unfortunately for Mr. Cruz, the last little ‘debate’ between the Trump and Cruz ended with Cruz speechless and applauding for Trump like an awed little child. He didn’t fare so well against Rubio either. So much for Cruz and his vaunted debate skills.
Not a good move? Is anybody on this site kidding to say that? Look at the counter at the bottom. Can’t even keep up reading the traffic. DT OWNS FR at this moment.
Talk about earned media. DT will own the entire news cycle for the rest of the week. Now’d be a good time for Hillary to drop out of the race. Nobody’d notice.
Every undecided voter who hates the media will now commit. To guess-who.
If DT outpulls Fox at an event of his own, a lot of folks here will have to eat their words. (Well, if they’re intellectually honest, they will)
